Today is another very sad day. Tony Gibbins, an Iowa owner/operator working the Fort Dodge, Iowa area, was involved in a head on collision with a school bus at 6:45 this morning. No students were aboard. The bus driver was life flighted. Tony was announced DOA. Cards and/or check to help with expense (if you’d like) can be sent to his wife Stacy Gibbins 1442 South 22nd Street, Fort Dodge, IA. 50501. I’ll update as more info comes. Life is a precious gift.
hbottumwaParticipantAgreed. As a State Owner, I have done some things in the past to encourage participation. I need to revisit that.
hbottumwaParticipantAt training last week I learned that after cleaning the floor (sweep/mop etc.) spray down de-waxer buff with the blue pad, apply the polish (and wait until fully dry) and buff again with a clean blue pad for best results.
hbottumwaParticipantI was at training this last week with Shane an awesome new owner from Texas. I learned that the Pet Enzyme should be mixed in the two and one half gallon jug, that it has a long shelf life (unlike the past one). Mixing it all when you get it is good because if you mix it as you need it you’ll get mixed reviews because it separates giving you inconstancy in effectiveness. It has a long shelf life, that”s why we can mix and sell to the customer.
hbottumwaParticipantGood advise. Thanks, Reuben
hbottumwaParticipantI was driving a van with newer logos back to Oregon from the eastern part of the Midwest. (34 hours behind the wheel) I stopped at Walmart to buy windshield wiper solution and another time and location to get new windshield wipers. Both times I was approached if I could come by and “clean for them.”
So, the question is… DOES YOUR VAN ATTRACT PEOPLE TO YOUR SERVICE?
Is it clean? Tires have silicone shine on them?
How old is your logo package and does it show it? (Like faded out?) How long will it take you to get the return from a new van logo package?
The van many times is the first potential customers image of your “Cleaning Service”.
hbottumwaParticipantJust sent you some!
hbottumwaParticipantIt’s Been sold!:)

Chev Express Van MPG, 13 City, !6 Highway, 14 combo
Chev Minivan MPG 14 City, 18 Highway, 15 combo (2005 last year made)Alex, what are you getting on your new Ford van?
hbottumwaParticipantThanks Reuben,
Any feed back?hbottumwaParticipantCould something like Compliance Depot be used to screen potential employees?
hbottumwaParticipantCongratulations poppa Reuben! I’ve been to a lot of Heaven’s Best seminars. I know no one as internet/website savvy as Reuben. He spoke at the Iowa regional seminar in April. Very impressive! Reuben rocks so much it’s his name! I would recommend his advise to all.
hbottumwaParticipantInterestingly enough, I received two texts from operators on the subject. One writes 10% off the next cleaning right on the customers receipt. The other hand writes on the Thank You card “$30 off your next cleaning” and signs it. Both are getting great results.
hbottumwaParticipantThanks for the feedback. I, personally am tired of companies that end the “service” part of the business as soon as they get your money, or try to up sell you for 20 minutes.
Some think it’s a sign of being a good salesman/woman, to me the definition of a conman or woman is “selling something they don’t believe in”.
“The most important thing in the contract, isn’t in the contract. It’s dealing with honest people.” Written by the author of How to swim with the sharks without being eaten alive.
Cody always referred to the “win-win” as a necessity for making the agreement. I miss that man.hbottumwaParticipantThanks. Ya, any time you have none smooth fragmented sentences, beware.
