http://WWW.SHOPNUTECH.COM (800) 435-5868 The (MULTI-SRAYER mod. #MS-M2) sprayers are quite nice (battery or plug in). Solvent based protector requires specific seals, line and O-rings to operate correctly without deteriorating the components. Using water based protectors is the other option. The sprayer runs $400 and you can also purchase different size tips which is a huge plus, however it doesn’t come from HB….perhaps it should.
    hope this helps.

I got a new pump and it has a built in switch on it so you can’t turn it off (you would have to remove batt. reach all the way to the back to turn it off). I always bleed the pressure off after use since they are a diaphragm pump. I agree they are difficult to work on for sure. In my opinion they would be better off using a pump manufactured by a sprayer manufacturer. They make numerous types for all kinds of needs.

I mix the solution up in a gallon jug, or regular solution tank if I have several to fill. I then use my sprayer to fill the bottles. Remove the spray tip before filling. Works like a champ and very little spillage.

I no longer take urine jobs unless they have very few isolated spots, I feel it is something I no longer am willing to put up with. When customers call and say they have urine spots , I tell them first thing that the chances are 50 / 50 and unless it is a repeat customer in good standing, I send Stanley, Servpro or ServiceMaster operators their way. I figure I would rather spend time cleaning cleaner carpet and get the results I am looking for. Not to say you can’t make good money at it if you have the equipment, I just choose not to.

I will try to post photo this week. It is fairly easy to do , however each van may be diffferent with door configuration. Mine is kinda a prototype, I want to work on it to make it even better……… It works really great though. I tried the portable ones …they just did’t do it for me.

    ON CARRYING THE BUFFER
I very seldom carry the buffer. On stairs I lower the handle to one of the lower positions and it will glide somewhat easily up or down stairs on it’s base. I also installed a ramp a couple years ago on the sliding door side of my econoline that works wonderful. It is hinged at the floor, folds up ( it is in two pieces) and latches to the safety screen. It was easy to make and install. Remember “LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS NOT WITH YOUR BACK !

I don’t get political but you have to look at what he was handed. The economy formed a vacuum long before he took office, and with all the head butting i don’t know how anything can get done in Washington. I read a sticker in a business the other day that read ” the only thing more overrated than owning your own business is natural childbirth”. I found it rather humorous.

In my opinion, emersion is the best way to clean (high end) wool rugs. I saw a post on that process a while back and it is a very involved (and expensive) process. It can be hard to see just how clean your getting them because you get so much of the color on the pads it can hide the soil. I will rake (groom) a section as i finish it, this helps keep buffer marks out of the rug….Hope this helps.

The UM is not well supported at the point of wheel attachment, it could use gusseting to help structurally. One fix would be to run a axle through the machine…but then it is in the way when you take the back panel off to access the motors to do any repair work. It’s cramped enough in there as it is. I feel the Upholstery mate works ok however it is heavy and could use improvement.
