I have 3 U-Mates. I think they are really great machines except for 1 thing. On every one of the machines the axles for the wheels tend to bend upwards. As a result, the wheels tip in at the top and out at the bottom. This looks bad, it’s bad on the wheels bearings and the metal that supports the axles has broken on all the machines. Anyone have the same issue? If so, maybe some suggestions for a bit sturdier setup. Thanks

My u-mate has a slight bend in the axles also. I think the weight of the machine and the forces that we put it under by loading and unloading, going up and down stairs and the daily grind we put it thru are more than the strength of the axle and wheels can handle. A heavier duty axle would require different wheels.

The UM is not well supported at the point of wheel attachment, it could use gusseting to help structurally. One fix would be to run a axle through the machine…but then it is in the way when you take the back panel off to access the motors to do any repair work. It’s cramped enough in there as it is. I feel the Upholstery mate works ok however it is heavy and could use improvement.
