I second the (made for commercial use) conquest. I know they sold insight for a short time after the Chinese bought Hoover. I ordered a replacement bag during that time and the two bolts on the bottom of the bag to attach to the vacuum, well, one was the correct size 🙂 and the other was to small :(. I think Cody went back to the Hoover after Hoover got it’s act together again. Therefore the question. Does corporate still sell the insight?
Every carpet cleaning franchise I know of (Chem-Day included), all use the Conquest.hbottumwaParticipantHey Dave that’s great! Must have been a great New Year’s Eve party… Have New Year!
hbottumwaParticipantI feel your pain. I have an HSA (health savings account) plan. It went from $522 a month to $988 starting January. 🙁 Some option items better, some worse. It’s about the same for a lot more. Maybe it’s because I’m an old dude.
hbottumwaParticipantI will attend in Iowa.
hbottumwaParticipantThis morning between 4-7am CST, our Ames, Iowa operator Rick Storm passed away. His viewing will be at Peterson’s Funeral home in Carlisle, IA between 7-9pm, Monday 10/12/2015 All operators are invited to attend except Bill Newton (as requested by Rick the day before his passing). On Wednesday 2pm there is a funeral at Joplin Funeral home in Joplin, MO (where Rick will be laid to rest). We’ll miss you Rick.
hbottumwaParticipantAwesome! Good things happen when you do your Heaven’s Best! It’s no accident to feel so good you just can’t stop smiling! It just feels good to be good! Right? Good job.

hbottumwaParticipantThanks Dave!
That’s what I call “Sniffing out side the box”!
“so give it a fun/rewarding name”, sorry, that’s all could come up with.hbottumwaParticipantI didn’t understand it that way, Ron. What I heard was the “Licensed Area” for new sales was a minimum of 30k, and COULD go up to 150k per licensed fee. Using your example of Orlando population 900k, could go up to 150k per licensed area (900 divided by 150= 6 licensed territories). One owner area, six franchise fees at term. It’s up to the state owners discretion. Hope this helps.
hbottumwaParticipantIn response to the state owner webinar dated 6/24/15. Thinking over the last few days… I understand the theory for the raising of 20k to 30k minimum population to sell a franchise (To sell a business not a job). I don’t understand the theory behind raising the franchise area up to 150k per-franchise fee. I feel among our existing operators, it can or will only question the win win we as a company have worked so hard to create and maintain as well as question the value of their future sale (or exist strategy). The number of (transferred) franchises then (creating a nightmare) reporting at the end of year FDD reports. We have to explain so much to future franchisees. Why this too? I see it being a can of worms better not open. I felt the webinar went well.
May 16, 2015 at 6:38 am in reply to: How to remove heavy soiling? (I got beat by a Rug Doctor) #156120hbottumwaParticipantI have experienced your frustration. It comes with experience and knowing what your dealing with. Dirt, the pile brush does wonders. Grease, FAE. Dog hair, a gallon of gasoline and a match? No No No! Pile brush, FAE, and orange deodorizer added to your 101 mixture (not in your power sprayer) and rake like crazy. Yes, there is time to run and there is time to learn. I have owned a truck mount. I was in awe what I easily removed with a buffer after FAE then the truck mount HWE. Some times a duel system is the answer. Most of the time it’s not. Some times you need a shovel instead of a vacuum. It’s not the same in each area. For example: Your local soil Ph may be different. That’s why you become the “Expert in your area”. Sometimes you must put the manual down and drive the car to get the driving experience. Every time I read the book the tortoise always wins. Just persist and win.
hbottumwaParticipantGood thought. So, what if we contract with the installers to seal for them?
hbottumwaParticipantTo avoid confusion of city owners attending, should we call them something like “regional training seminars”? Because they will not be the normal format as those in the past.
I felt the webinar was good, informative, and positive. I really do like the idea of “additional streams of income”, as options (not MANDATORY), and financing. With the trend of more and more removal of carpet, plus aging operators looking to “be the manager”, for so many reasons, it just feels right. I’ve seen a good bit of the videos.
My concerns are two.
1. Proper training and follow through has got to be priority. I know of a “Grand opening” of a restaurant. They spent a ton of money on equipment, supplies, advertising, remodeling, and training etc. The problem came to light when a few of their menu items were not up to expectations. Many never returned. Because of a damaged reputation, many never came. I know no one starts on the top, but the practice at home and in the shop have got to be there. No one will continue to pay for disappointment. Operators must train and practice before going in the customers place.2. Proper insurance, in proper amounts, and insurance ryders in place for state owners and corporate through out the organization. Have operator safety check offs with signatures after trainings. We don’t have to circle the wagons, just have them going the same direction.
I don’t mean to cause concerns except “Dogs don’t chase parked cars.” This phrase also works for prospective buyers. Yea! We’re on the move!
hbottumwaParticipantDear fellow state owners,
Next webinar March 25th 4pm MDST!
I personally am excited about the new additional revenue streams (services) Heaven’s Best is about to offer as stated in the March newsletter. (Duct &/or dryer vent cleaning, carpet re-stretching, window washing, and water restoration.) I feel this will be an excellent addition because I can vision it profitable for having two in the van. One doing carpet and the second doing upholstery or hardwood floor, or windows or dryer vent cleaning being far more likely. It is already better to do VC Tile and/or tile & grout with two people. To me the key to all of this is 1) PROPER TRAINING and 2) GETTING ENOUGH EXPERIENCE TO FEEL CONFIDENT TO PRESENT AND PERFORM IN THE HOME AND/OR BUSINESS. As more and more carpet is being removed I feel for many reasons this is a good fit for a Heaven’s Best business!
Can wait to see what’s next!hbottumwaParticipantInteresting. Thanks, Loren
