I have had those no-show issues in the past. For the past few years I call prior to going over to confirm. At the time I make the appointment, I tell them that I will call prior to coming over to confirm. Has worked out pretty good overall…

Update. After emailing the senior management, I received a call from a manager to let me know they were re-opening the case. In short, they did some more research and got back with me to let me know that they had taken down the miscellaneous review.

It actually has. However, I am currently in a dispute with them over something that should have been easy to resolve. I am tying up a few loose ends right now, but will be posting some important information that everyone needs to be aware of about these guys in the next few days.

Yes, You are probably right, and that was a quick response from them as well…LOL. SM sends out a weekly newsletter via email with links to different articles. That was one of the articles they had linked to in their Sep 25 newsletter.

Ha, interesting Gordon. Service Monster actually sent the link out to that article in one of their weekly newsletters. I guess they don’t thoroughly scrutinize what they are sending out.

I really like it as well. I only use it on my PC though. I have not tried the Smart Phone App yet. As Patrick mentioned there is short learning curve with it, but Service Monster walks you through everything within those first few weeks.

    Andrew,

I have used them for a few months now. So far I have gotten on average at least a few jobs per month. My ROI has been around 4:1 so far.

FYI – you can negotiate a lower rate than what they initially give you. Also, they want you to sign up for 12 months, but that can be negotiated as well. Just need to speak to a person above the sales rep level. I got my monthly territories increased and fees reduced while only signing up for a 6-month contract.

Greg, that is true about the placement part. Funny that you mentioned the BBB. I actually clean for my local BBB office here and was just there a few weeks ago. While there I asked them about Angies List and they looked up their info for me since I was considering trying them. They do have all of those complaint’s, but the BBB told me that Angie’s List was considered a “mega-company” or something to that effect, and that many complaints is common for a large business like that. And, for what it is worth, they do currently carry a “A+” rating. I just negotiated a deal with them for me to try them for 6-months at about half the rate I was initially quoted by their sales rep.

I’ll see if my business benefits from this or not and then decide if I want to continue on with them. I have been with them over two weeks now and have gotten one job through them so far. Time will tell…

It varies by location and population. But, you can negotiate a lower rate than what they initially give you. Also, they want you to sign up for 12 months, but that can be negotiated as well. Just need to speak to a person above the sales rep level.

I joined when I started my business. I am not from this area so I thought it would help me get to know other professionals in the area. Worked great for me, I was a member for five years and finally got out about two years ago because it finally ran its course and I just got a bit too busy to keep attending each week. It really helped me a ton in the early years. I still get referrals from many of the members…

My web site was suppose to be ready over a month ago (according to them), just needed to talk with me about server set up. I have not been able to get a hold of them since, sent emails, called, left messages, etc…
