I bought a ramp at Harbor Freight for $127 and tax several weeks ago . . If you get on there list they sometimes send you a 15% off coupon. Yes I’m kind of thrifty (Dutch). It holds up to 1200 lbs. has two safety chains, it is six feet long , and hinges in the middle. Anyhow so far my wife was right, I needed a ramp.

    Hey Dave,
I went to the easy move web site and under sources for their sliders your name came up for retailers for residential users. You the man.

I’ve found a great use for my old pads, I make them into a hat. That’s right they make a great ” bonnet “.

I don’t usually use a finishing towel on most jobs , perhaps I should. At a men’s breakfast recently I spoke to a gentlemen who had sold a carpet cleaning business he had owned for many years. What amazed me was he used towels only ,he did not use bonnets at all. Kind of wild .

Hi Mark , how is my neighbor ? Personally I would charge something like $20 per pew with Fabric Protection . Most of the time if a church job is under $1000 thy don’t need board approval. Also normally they are easy to clean. Don’t forget to hit up the funeral homes they are good also.

Matt, in response to your odor guarantee question, I would like to give my opinion. Don’t ever guarantee something you can’t control. There are too many intangibles in odor removal. To me that kind of guarantee is a gimmick. Just guarantee your customers the best job you can do and treat them as you yourself would want to be treated.

I purchased the new style iron and plate several months ago. It does the job , but isn’t quite the final answer. It needs to be refilled a little to often if dealing with multible spots ,also it is a little small . On the good side it is low tech, and inexpensive.

I have a regular customer(every 2 months) that I treat their carpet a little differently.Due to the abundance of pet urine I now only use FAE and extract. Then clean normally. They are price sensitive ,and I under priced intially(my fault).Their pack of five dogs quickly give their own homey touch to this residence.Carpet always looks great when I am done.Customer is always pleased.Gotten several jobs due to this customer, and they are better jobs.

Just a comment on moving furniture , if you don’t have the tool called the lift buddy get on, at $40 bucks they are a real back saver. This isn’t a commercial just an endorsement.

I have a question for Brian Sutton, and thanks for your presentation in Las Vegas seminar. You stated you sold Fabric Protection to pretty much 100% of your customers. Now I see the benefit to you, But I don’t see the benefit to say a renter moving out. What am I missing here ?

I am a new operator but in the 300+ jobs I have done so far only 2 have wanted to pay by credit card. They paid by check, no bouced checks either to date. At some time I will most likely do the plastic thing but for now I am holding off.
