I have both Nobles and Minuteman. Myself and my employee both agree that we DESPISE the Minuteman. Mainly due to the fact that it is EXTREMELY awkward to carry. The Nobles fits very comfortably on your thigh while carrying, so your legs do most of the lifting. The Minuteman does not. Although you could still awkwardly position it on your thigh while carrying, your arms and back are forced to handle the brunt of the weight. It’s an absolute back breaker. Other than that, it’s a very nice smooth running machine though. Oh yea, the cord is also a pain to wrap up. Like I said we both hate it and can’t wait to pick up our Nobles which is currently being repaired.

Thanks for the response Dave. Besides doing the thank you and 6/18 month cards, what else are you doing as far as staying in touch/marketing to your existing customers?
I’ve been horrible at that and it’s my new years revolution to improve on the marketing of my existing customer base. Prior to this year all i’ve been doing was leaving a business card magnet, and maybe sending out 1 or 2 coupon postcards throughout the year. That’s it. As of right now i’d say most of my jobs are mainly new customers (around 60%) while repeat business makes up maybe 30-40 percent. I think thats an extremely poor ratio. What would you say your percentage is? Anyone else could feel free to chime in as well.

Been using Service Monster for about a month now. AMAZING software. Love it.
Been thinking of trying the Fill My Schedule feature.
Is anyone doing it? If so, hows it working for you?

Had the same problem when I bought my new sprayer. Started leaking a couple weeks later. Frustrating indeed.

I charge per room. Don’t know how you sq.ft guys do it. Seems to me like it takes so much time measuring and calculating numbers. Takes me 5 minutes to walk around a property and write up an estimate (I use a rolla-tape for show. Things been broken for years).

Hey Dave- I dont do a ton of wood floor jobs. Maybe a couple a month. But when I do, I use the wood floor cleaner, along with the wood floor pads (white and red). You should watch the video corporate has on the website showing the process. We get the best results if the wood still has plenty of finish on it. Shines up real well. Poorest results come when the finish has worn off. Doesn’t shine up at all. ALWAYS let the customer know that.

I never use Dry Solvent. I use TGP. Bryan, do you feel Dry Solvent works better?

in reply to: Anyone pay to advertise on Yelp #155587

I just spoke with a Yelp rep today and told them I was skeptical about committing to a one year contract. I was able to get them down to two options:
    A) Agree to a one year contract for $300 a month, but inlcude an early termination agreement.
    or
    B) Agree to a 3 month contract for $350 a month, without an early termination agreement.

Just a little FYI for anybody out there considering advertising on Yelp.
