Thank you Cody. Hadn’t thought of that… that might help.
IN33ParticipantThanks for these responses. This helps.
IN33ParticipantHi All,
For those who have this unit, do you find you use it much in residential jobs?
Thanks!
IN33ParticipantI use the To Do list under “Company” (one of the items on the top of the screen)
IN33ParticipantI too have the Duet and flushed my filter about a week or so ago. It’s like it has a new pump! This is an important maintenance item for Duet owners.
IN33ParticipantI’m curious what technique other operators use for cleaning stairs. I ususally do 4 passes… over and back, and over and back again, and that’s it. When I’ve done more than that, I find the heat twist can begin to unravel a bit. Many times though, I find the carpet could really use more cleaning than that… but I’m afraid to keep going. I am currently using the green stripe pads separated in half.
Thanks!
IN33ParticipantGot it… Thanks Cody!
IN33ParticipantOne thing I’ve thought could be helpful is a list of the most common items needing replacement. I realize everything will eventually need fixing or replacement, but some items are more prone than others. If such a list were available, I would probably order one of each item and keep it on the shelf. Being in the business nearly 2 years, I haven’t had enough history to develop a sense of what needs fixing/replacing in what time intervals.
IN33ParticipantThis is a great idea… thanks for sharing. I’m signing up now.
IN33ParticipantHow would you say they compare to the woven turf for absorbency and overall cleaning effectiveness? The woven turf is my favorite at this point, but that may change…
IN33ParticipantI see these posts are a few years old now… but thought I’d throw my 2 cents in… I avoided using FAE for the first year or so. Tried it just a few weeks ago, and was amazed at the results! It cut traffic areas like butter. It adds to the time of each job when I use it, but not enough to outweigh the amazing benefits.
I would be interested to know if anyone uses a heating element on board the van to avoid using customer’s hot water. Don’t mind using customer’s water (if available), but would prefer to provide my own.
IN33ParticipantI’ve been at this since October of 2008… not quite a year yet. I’ve found that advertising a price special in the newspaper has worked well for me. I advertise 3 rooms for $99. I limit a room size to 250 square feet, and charge extra for pet urine, red dye removal, etc. Different things work in different areas… this has worked well in mine.
Welcome… and good luck!
