I think Gordon menioned that Fast Acting Enzyme works good on pet stains. Is it the way to go, besides Pet Enzyme?

Hey Mike, I use the fae on everything. It works great with pet enzymes.Caution you dont need much & dont mix a too strong of a solution. I like to use it as a pre spray on traffic areas & stains rake in let dwell for a few minutes then clean as normal. Hope this helps.
Do you guys have that much time to spend doing this? I find it hard sometimes just making it to the next job. I build in 30 minutes extra per job to get to know the customer but if I run into something that necessitates the use of FAE then I’m on the phone with the next customer pushing the job back.
Ron if you are that booked it sounds like you are almost ready a helper or the second van. Other wise it is all about pre planning. Speak, vacuum, Spray then unload your van and set up the rest of the equipment. By this time you are ready to rock and roll. You will find that as you grow you will have to stream line the process. When I go out on a job with a helper I spend a lot of time with the customer while he rakes and finishes up. For you it is a good problem to have.
I agree with Greg. I do use the FAE. Not as often as I should obviously. I do know and have read that FAE will cut some time off the overall cleaning time. Thanks for info guys. Thanks Delsette

I have been in the business for just about 7 years and I haven’t really used to much FAE. After reading what everybody has been saying I figured I would get some before I did this theater. I have cleaned it 3 times so far, and in front of the popcorn machine it had a horrible black build up that I haven’t been able to remove. Used the FAE on it and its gone!!
I am going to start using FAE more often.FAE is a must for the greasy restaurants. I can’t believe how well it works for pet stains. Just put it on a dry carpet after vacuuming. It is the quickest and easiest way to remove pet stains. I didn’t see it do much for odors. Dry the best you can and use pet enzymes for the odor.
With pre-spraying with FAE, and then 101, and then buffing, I agree with Ron, the time is extended somewhat, but is the carpet then dry in 1 hour?
I mix up what I need for each job in a spotter sprayer and spray the problem areas only and let it sit while I get the rest of the equipment in. I spray each room ahead as needed to allow dwell time for the FAE to work. I then spray the room with 101 for general cleaning. This stuff really works on pet stains. Didn’t realize this until the convention.
Yep Gordon, it does work great on those restaurants. It’s like a knife to the grease. Thanks for the replys and help. One more thing to add to what Ron said and Dave in PA: If you give yourself enough time between jobs then using FAE is no problem. My wife and I schedule enough time because of Newton’s Law—If it can go wrong then it will—but I do agree that the less time you give for the other clients, on certain days that they “must have”, then your losing money.

I thought Newton’s law was “if the apple falls from the tree, it will hit you in the noggin”. I beleive Murphy’s law is the one about what can go wrong will.

I hate to say it but I never used FAE in the last 7 years. Today was the first time it was used on a job by one of my techs. The exact phone call I got after the third job went like this. “Greg we have a problem. I was not lookiing forward to finding out what it was but I asked any way. He said that I did not order enough FAE and that I should see if Cody could sell it in 55 gal drums.” He was so excited with the results. I guess it made some very questionable carpets look new again. I only wish I paid more attention during training 7 years ago.
Thank you to all of you who left such great feedback on FAE. With out you we would not have tried it. It is like finding a new abest friend.
