Ron, it may be asking allot, but can you tell us again about how much each operator has cost you through this pup & pony show and how many owners have came as a result? I was looking for an average. I know your presentation is much better now but was interested to see your average expense per owner and total cost as a result of your shows.

I’m looking forward to the experience and of course the results!

I agree, but as far as things go I would like a warm coat today. Burrrrrrrrr.

Cody will one or the other become available soon?

It doesn’t ever get cold in Iceburg, Idaho does it?

FAE is a must for the greasy restaurants. I can’t believe how well it works for pet stains. Just put it on a dry carpet after vacuuming. It is the quickest and easiest way to remove pet stains. I didn’t see it do much for odors. Dry the best you can and use pet enzymes for the odor.

I have been pondering on the things stated here and I keep reflecting on the value of the right person in the right location.
I have worked very hard and long with some owners that should have never been owners. One of them had the record of $2,000. for a best month, lazy, had tattoo’s on both arms and had a hair style like Elvis. A referral (operator) come from a neighboring operator with great reviews came to my attention. I surveyed the situation and offered to buy out the sad looking Elvis impersonator. I explained it had been a few years with little results. There is a prospective buyer for this area and I would recommend you to take it. It cost me about $2,500. to make the trade. It was well worth the cost. The new owner is averaging more each month than what the first owner did all year.

The greatest challenge to me is to find the right owner for the right area. I think we are targeting this right. If we can be in a position to choose the best from several candidates.
I like the idea of radio ad’s backed with newspaper and billboard for these pup and pony shows. I think there is something there worth investigating. I love history and knowledge. I know it will be worth the time and effort if we can just get to the one to one communication with prospective buyers.

Doing regional seminars cost, but the results pay back many fold, if we can just get them there. I think the same is true with prospective buyers.

Yes, Life is very, very good with the right owners owning the right areas.

Show them your before and after pictures, letter of recommendation papers, and evaluation cards (mainly the one with comments written on the bottom.

When ask prices, ask what they are usually being charged. Ask if they have any open apt’s to see the measurements. (they maybe higher than what you would have charged) If they are lower, let them know that even if they are writing the check it comes out of the renters deposit. If the renters are the ones paying, doesn’t it make sense to get a higher quality job for a fair price? You could offer to clean a room free of charge to show what they have been missing. Let them know you can have the carpets DRY WITH IN AN HOUR! Soon if not already, you can do spot dyeing and minor carpet repairs! Let them know Heaven’s best is an international franchise, rated fastest growing – seven years straight!

Leaving them mugs, pens, and mints really go over well with the ladies.

If you can’t be first on the list, ask to be called when for some reason their first on the list can’t come.

Not having done a show I would only guess it should include the very positive…

New logos with uniform, vans, and equipment. Show and review the franchise 50 review. (98% owner satisfaction etc.) Also Entrepreneur magazine (from 113 to 57 to 40!, 7 years straight- fastest growing carpet cleaning franchise etc.)

People love us when we get the chance. Almost all of us thought this was to good to be true!

The best product, a very trained honest staff. very competitive price!

    No wonder people love us!

    Good idea Big GM!

After the way the seminar/conference went, I would add “products” to the already great mentioned topics.

I have got more urine stains out with FAE then ever before. Mix, spray, wait, and clean! Then treat the odor as needed. I didn’t know it worked so well for that.

New, newer, and us old timers could all benefit from this.

    I Love this franchise!

I feel the importance to the customer has a roll in it. For example if it’s under the couch or in a major walk way. However, I feel the $50 would be more applicable.

On this subject, it would be great to list all the company names of the jobs you’ve done and maybe the total sq ft of the job. So we can get a feel for things.

Cody, I’m enjoying the taste of the pie!

Ammon, there is 22 State- Country-Planet Owners. The rest of the universe is Corp. owned.

As stated before, allot of this computer/internet tech stuff to me is not near as clear as my bald head. I have spent allot on a lot. My daughter got married in Jan 07, The seminar cost me about $2,300 in gifts and incentives, I have not finished paying off my $30k medical bills from last year yet, and my cute wife with even cute’r eyes needed a newer mini-van.

I am going to enjoy the pie and continue doing what works. Aside from the corp. advertising I’m spending about $300 this month in targeted papers. Next month it will be about a $1000. I made a feeble attempt to start a newsletter for my owners. (thank you Bryan for that idea) Among other things, I’m encouraging them to place their info. packets from the seminar or from the one that was sent to each of them at the end of last year, to anyone looking for a great business in or out of the state they live in.
With my volunteer selected advertising I can spend it at my choosing and as I have it to spend.

I am not upset or disappointed with any of you or corp.
I would love to do the dog and pony shows. I have very few areas with a hundred thousand or more people in it that has not been sold. But I would welcome the experience and knowledge.

    I hope this all helps.

If I’m in a people sensitive home I’ll attempt to remove gum using Orange Deodorizer, after using gum freeze. I also use my sizzers from my pocket knife in an attempt to scrape it from the fibers instead of cutting with the razor blade. Cutting of course being the last resort.

    Grant! Very gutsy!

I did the same thing when I started back in ’82’. The exception is I only did a 30% discount. The same results. Personal letters and eye to eye contact back then. (Al Gore hadn’t yet invented the internet.)

    Great idea Jeremy!

Although I would, because I have been, charge $20 for life time spotter. If they will pay $15 they will pay $20. If you have a thousand customers who pay $5 more thats $5,000. more (pure profit!) Even if you were to say regular price was $25, but because I’m in your home cleaning It’s only $20!

Life time refill? How does this work? I ask the customer “Can I refill your spot remover bottle? You don’t have one? It is a life time refill. Every time we come to clean, we refill it free! So don’t discard your bottle, If you need it refilled and don’t need our services, It’s a $10 refill!”

I have about 10% of my customers that have two spotters! I have at least 40% of my customers who own a spotter bottle.

I once had a customer tell her neighbor to call me to have their carpets cleaned (a referral), and sent her spotter bottle over for the refill. When I finished, the new customer asked me if she could buy her own spotter!
    I love this business!

Spotters and protector are as Brian Sutton said, “like changing the oil and not the filter!” Thanks Brian!

You and all the speakers did great!
