This yellowing is caused by the rubber backing. I know of nothing to remove it. It seems that the black backing is the worst.

If it is not clogged, the problem is your fan. If you don’t regularly clean out (empty) your heavy object cup by using your edger, it will build up and very prematurely wear out your fan blades. This is why you hear the high pitch sound. It takes about half an hour to change when you know how to change it. It’s easier to empty it at least daily.

I really can not believe the response and wording of thanks from my operators that I had the privilege of making visits with. It’s like looking at the really good feeling evaluation cards that come from customers about our operators.

Making visits to operators is like using a microwave oven. After you experience one, you really have no idea how you can get by without them.

P.S. It was a great seminar in SLC.

I have no problem with the way you are doing it. If it works better in your area go for it. I have found it to work better for me to spray, dwell, buff using a damp pad (BBC if carpet allows) (1), them spray 101, clean, spray and clean until you are content.

    (1) it (the BBC) continues to work the carpet (with FAE) while still active. The 101 mixing with FAE reduces it’s effectiveness, or so it seems to me.

Again you have the freedom to chose which way works better for you.

FAE works better if you use a damp pad on it and buff after 15 min. dwell time, then apply 101 to carpet and continue to clean.
I had an operator say that another operator told him that FAE in powder form should be mixed to 101 cleaner. This will not give you the desired results. Sometimes things can be mistaken. I wanted to clarify this so no one else will be misled.

FHE, Apply to dry carpet for best results, Apply like 101. It must be sprayed on thick enough to run a pad over it after the wait of 15 min. FHE is not to be mixed with anything besides hot water. (Hot water: hot enough to activate enzymes but not to hot to kill them. The hot water should not be hot enough to burn your skin.) Dave, the enzymes are working until the carpet drys of other if other products are used. If the carpet does dry before your 15 min. it was a waste of time and product, it must stay wet long enough to do it’s job.

It has been a week since the last post in the state owner section. My questions are… What is everyone/anyone doing for advertising? Is it working? Is it getting good response but no sales? Are we not advertising? Would we be willing to spend 1 to 2 thousand a month for advertising? How many new owner/operators a month could you effectively service?

    Jeff,

All things need work from time to time, even my marriage of almost 25 years!

Go ahead and buy one. three complaints out of four hundred and fifty is less them 1%… 99% is not a bad rating!

If the stair buffer was really that bad, it wouldn’t be on the “Heaven’s Best” list. I love mine!

The way this works for all concerns, is when you have a larger job that will take most of a day or several days, call the nearby franchise to help clean with you. At lunch (order in pizza) and go through the question and answer thing. It is a great opportunity to build a good relationship between neighbors.

Okay, I will admit to my lack of knowledge concerning green clean…

The first time someone mentioned green clean I said “no we don’t use the bissell green machine or simple green either.”

Go figure, I’m glad we have this board to help educate each other.

Concerning moving furniture back shortly after cleaning, I see three options.

    1. If area never gets foot traffic. Spray lightly in that area where no one walks or grinds in dirt, and work it with an extra pad to help quick dry time.

    2. Use the small strips of plastic you can order from corporate.

    3. If you don’t have the plastic strips and you are just waiting around for the carpet to dry, because you have no other areas to clean, (to save time) go grab your blow dryer and do a quick dry on those two square inch places where the desk legs go.

What you don’t want to do, is try to explain to the customer why our quick- dry system left wood stain or rust in the carpet (created by H.B.professionals) because we were in a hurry to get done.

The options are one, two, or three.
