I’m not an authority on this except I know (in conjunction with the above statements) the weekly goal must be incorporated in the daily TO-DO list. For example, in order for MY weekly goal to reach fruition I must spend one hour a day to accomplish my short and long term goals.
Secondly, having a mentor is extremely beneficial and having someone to report to is a must.

I mentioned in the Oregon-Washington and in the Iowa regional seminars, about the guy who was so committed to obtaining his goal, if he succeeded, he would take his family to Disneyland for a week! (The family posted Disneyland posters all over the house) If he did not succeed, he was committed to send a check. He wrote out the check and placed it next to his posted goal on the refrigerator. The check was written to the KKK for $10,000. You guessed it. He is a black man. Do you think for a moment, he didn’t obtain his goal?

What’s your reward and failure associated with your goals?

Yea, yea, yea. The more I do and the longer and harder I work , the more I realize how imperfect I am. The word “word” in my above post should read “wood” stain remover. In spite of all my imperfections, it was a great seminar.

Actually Ron, I just thought Cody was saying that to see how many state owners actually read the bulletin board…

The lesson learned here is just because you sent someone 5 or 6 emails over a years time, doesn’t mean their server really delivered (sent to the proper address and without a delivery failure notification). I have not received “Ashley Manor” bills from an Idaho operator either. After three months of trying, it was forwarded from his wife’s personal email. Because it was forwarded and therefore I could see the attempts were properly made.
If this happens to you, first you must recognize it and second have them send you an email and you respond to it to recognize it. Even them it may take more than one try. One resulted in missing a seminar and the other resulted in a long delay in getting paid. Rich and Tyson, I deeply apologize for these email mishaps.

With the time I spend in the van driving to my neighboring area I prefer Books on CD. However, I’ll buy your book! Find out what the shipping is. I’ll send you a check.

My last enjoyable books were “Raving Fans” and “Over Sell and Over Deliver” I do highly recommend them.

Until someone lets me know what paying ads bring results, I’ve not paid for any ads except corporate ran state owners ads. I have personally, got most of my calls off of Craigslist. I just haven’t been able to made those a sale. I’m still working on that. However, the corporate ran advertising has made a difference with internet credibility, presence, ratings, and leads. I know this because when they are first looking into “Heaven’s Best” they go “researching”. Like the drive plate is important but not without the buffer. Having the credibility is just important maybe more important than how they first find you. The fact that the two couldn’t remember where they first found “Heaven’s Best” is proof of that.

Is any state owner paying for state owner ran ads except Ron?
Doing any ads except corporate ran State Owner Ads?
    If so, what is working?

I wish I could. They both came from leads from corporate requesting more info. However, neither can remember the first internet place they noticed “Heaven’s Best”. The first took about eight months and the second about two and a half months and working with about twelve people in between. I established my goals in October of last year and have devoted about an hour a day since. This hour is not including calls from prospective buyers but placing ads and pondering options and implementing those options

    Good points. Thanks Ron.
I feel our main focus has to be on sales, That’s how we make the majority of our money, or should make the majority of our money. No sales = no purchase profits, no franchise fees, no orders, no vacation, no paid bills, and no fun. Our future, the franchise future depends on sales. Servicing our existing franchises is very important yes, but should be second only to sales. From franchise fees, we receive $960 each paying franchise. Orders, approx $400-500 per area. Sales!!! $14,450 + $1,000 for schedule A sale, or $1,000 for schedule A and $3,684.24 ($307.02 X 12 months) for 5 years totaling $18,421.20. As I said sales are our future. I feel 75% of our focus should be on sales and 25% on service. Without paying more to corporate advertising, what can we as individual State Owners do to create, attract, and sell more franchises to desired prospective buyers?
Personally, I’ve advertised in the free internet listings Cody brought up on the news letter a few months back, advertised on Craigslist in targeted areas, and offered a $5,000 finders fee (for referral sales) to all my existing franchisees for non purchased areas.
I have been blessed to sell two new areas and an extended area so far this year. I have goals for more. This is what I’ve been doing.
    I greatly encourage your thoughts.

Concerning the Franchise 50 review comments, I feel some comments were make, not thinking they would be made public in any way. We do want them to respond honestly and I feel making their (critical) comments public would loose confidence, respect, and loyalty we’ve worked hard to build. Not only in the critical comments but the overall karma. To state owners, yes I feel comfortable that we can review and learn from their comments. Posting many of their comments would be good, just not the ones talking negatively about their neighboring franchises.
