Maybe you could really sell them on the low-moisture method by doing a side-by-side comparison???
HB2003ParticipantThanks for the info… 8)
HB2003ParticipantI was introduced to them a week ago. I am using the free trial now. If nothing else, it seems like a great tool to use for your major clients. They do offer a fairly cheap way to use the service if you are only sending 20 or so cards out a month. I think the base price is around $10 a month, plus postage. Not bad if you just want to use it for your bigger clients.
HB2003ParticipantI will usually do one or two passes with a towel. Heavily soiled areas/traffic areas may require more.

HB2003ParticipantI have had mine on since nearly the beginning and they still look great. I have even put the van through several automated car washes.

Steam ONLY!? #151420HB2003ParticipantI am retired from the AF and can tell you that the military way of thinking can be classified as “different.” They have policies and procedures that have been in place for ever and they are very slow to change. However, follow the advice from the other posts here and you might eventually get somewhere. Continue to educate and be persistent.
If you don’t get the housing jobs, you may want to contact the base contracting office. You can get info on bidding for for general carpet cleaning jobs throughout the base. There is an operator in Columbia, SC that has been awarded contracts to clean for National Guard/Reserve buildings and gets paid pretty decent for it. His name is Charles Cipriano. You may want to contact him for more info on that…

HB2003ParticipantI use the finishing towels on most of my jobs anymore. As stated, even though you can’t visibly see the dirt, it is amazing what those towels pick up. Plus, it gives me piece of mind knowing that there is all of that dirt that was not left behind in the customer’s carpet… 🙂
HB2003ParticipantThanks Pat. What are your normal residential rates in that area?
HB2003ParticipantAs far as the business is concerned, sell more carpet Protector. 😆
HB2003ParticipantI think that is a great idea and pretty simple to implement. Lat year was my first full year in business and when I looked at the numbers, a large part of my business came from referrals and repeat customers. I think a simple referral plan as Brian mentioned could boost sales even more. Maybe a free bottle of spotter or credit towards future cleaning for the referee, and some form of a discount for the referral?
There are several things we could do with this and it would be very simple since we pretty much leave cards behind anyway as Brian mentioned.

HB2003ParticipantHad the Namco as well and it didn’t care for it, always had issues with it. Now use the new steam iron and plate.
HB2003Participant“If your carpets have gone to hell, call Heaven’s Best!”
HB2003ParticipantI ordered a mailing list through D&D. I set parameters on the home values and household income in order to get me about 5,000 listings. The cost for this was around $230, but I got with a few other folks in the area that wanted the same thing (friends that are Home Inspectors, Financial Advisers, Insurance brokers, etc.) and we split the cost. Ended up costing me about $40. Now I just mail a little out each week to control the postage costs…
I got my postcards (used a template from HB website) from vistaprints.com
HB2003ParticipantHB2003ParticipantSunCom? Thanks
