There are people always trying to steal money by using scam tactics. There is a scam that people are trying on rug cleaners. They say they have 15 rugs that they want cleaned, but can’t deliver them unless you send them money first. If it sounds too good to be true, it is! Below is the letter we received for us to clean rugs. Do not feel sorry for the guy, he doesn’t have lung cancer, isn’t a US citizen, and as you can tell doesn’t know English very well. You can tell he doesn’t know English very well because he uses some sophisticated words, but then messes up a lot on the simpler words (ie. he used a dictionary to translate for him).

Another way they do this is by calling you. Sometimes they call using the telephone operator, so all they do is type and then the operator talks. This hides their crazy accent, so you think it is legitimate. They ask you to charge their credit card, then wire them x number of dollars to the shipping guy and you get to keep most of it to clean the rugs. The thing is that you send them your money while waiting for the credit card to process, they get the money and cancel the credit card charge. So then you get to say goodbye money. One thing to remember is that if they can receive wired money, they can also send wired money, so that is why you tell them to just wire the money instead. Then they hang-up and stop calling you.

    EXAMPLE LETTER:
    Hello,
This is Phillip David, i would like to know if you do rug cleaning service.Am relocating from my old house in Florida down to state here and i would like to know how much will 20×10 area rug cost for cleaning and actually i have 15 rugs of that, can you do the total calculation for the cleaning for the 15 rugs sized 2500 square feet.Kindly send me an email with total cost of cleaning the rugs and your shop address in order to have its send to the private shipping guy that will deliver the rugs down to your shop for the cleaning.Basically am just moving in to state here and i am at the hospital right now because i was down with a diagnosis of cancer of the lungs as such i had to spend some time in the intensive care,so i want to do the cleaning arrangement of the rugs and after copmleting the payment with my credit card, the private shipper can have the rugs move down to your shop for the cleaning.
Actually i wouldn’t be able to do the delivery and pick up due to the nature of my illness but have made a booking with a private shipping guy that will be delivery the rugs to your end and pick its up after you have the cleaning done.Kindly get back to me via email at –email–

    Thanks
    Phillip David

I can understand that. People act like Google is the only search engine.

A lot of people use Google, but there are other search engines!

Thank you. It is funny how they bost that they are on the first page of google. Notice the phrase they searched is ‘Simple to Create’. We are also on page one for google if your search “Heaven’s Best”. Not to mention, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, rug cleaning, carpet cleaning companies, carpet cleaner, and carpet cleaners.

    Carpet cleaning – position 4
    Rug Cleaning – position 42 (page 5)
    Carpet Cleaners – position 13

I got a glimpse of what Google is doing. They are going to show recent tweets and comments on social websites at the bottom of the page. So the bigger presence we have on social websites, the more times we will be mentioned on the front page.

The name badge printer that we have, from what I understand, is not working. I will take a look at it and try to fix it, but no guarantees. If it gets fixed, then I will let you know.

Having more of your links on other websites does help. You need to make sure you are considering your keywords though.

If I were interested in ranking higher on search engines for the keyword ‘Funny’, then I would want other websites to create a link to my website using the word Funny.

    ie. Funny
(if you want to learn programmer lingo, the text ‘Funny’ is the anchor text)
Which would look like this on the page: Funny

We do have a list of operators and their websites.
    1. go to heavensbest.com
    2. click on “site map” (bottom of page, by “operators login”)
    3. scroll down the page
    4. click on “View All the Operators’ Landing Pages”

Here is the direct link: http://www.heavensbest.com/list-regions.html

    Hope this makes sense.

I’ll try to remember to tell Cody to read your post. If you want a little faster response there is that Operator “Comment/Complaint” form you can fill out. I think what you said would be a good idea, but if we do make those changes, it may take a while for the old labels to run out.

We really do appreciate any suggestions you have for making things easier for everyone.

    Thanks.

I know I’m not an operator, but do be careful with a plug-in heater in your van. I know of a man that used one to dry his mini-van’s carpet. His van caught on fire and almost started his house on fire.

So, do what you need to do, but be very careful!

Two other companies to MAYBE stay away from would be ServiceMagic.com and 1800contractor.com. The reason is because they seem to be using our name to advertise for other companies. Go to google and search Heavensbest, heavens best, or even Heaven’s Best. You will notice that there are sponsered links with Heaven’s Best as the title of the link, but they actually go to their sites.

Greg, thank you for helping with this, well actually, I am the one helping you with this, so thank you. I have been doing link building as well. For any operators reading this, every month in the newsletter we ask you to do one thing that will help with our website rankings. If we all do that one thing each month, then we will climb on the search engines.

Thanks again to everyone that has helped with getting the word out about our website.
