That’s good that you did your research. That’s why I put those questions on there. For you, but also for other operators to think about.
To help with matching the carpet since it is wet with the color dye, spray water on an area close to where the spot you are dying is. Just make sure to remember which wet spot is the one you are dying and the one that is just wet from water.
You can also look at the tutorials in the operators section of the website to watch John dye carpet.
The link to the tutorials are on the horizontal, gray menu at the top after logging into the operators section.
I’m not sure how the google calendars work, but here are a few thoughts/questions I had.

Were you able to access the calendars?
Did you go into the ‘Calendar Settings’ in the upper right corner and enter you information in the ‘Mobile Setup’ tab?
If you did, did it not work after entering the verification code?
Then maybe go to the ‘Calendars’ tab in the ‘Calendar Settings’ and click ‘Notifications’.@AKCleaner
Did the ‘Calendar’ option not appear in the upper left corner when you signed into mail.google.com/a/heavensbest.com ?
Could you explain a little more?Side note: When you are responding to a post some one else made, you can say ‘AKCleaner I agree with you’ or you can do what I did. That way it is easier to see responses to questions people have. Like if five people had questions and I was only interested in the question the fourth person asked, then I could just look for @’fourth person’ and find the answer.

Unless they have some one that does research and writes articles specifically for you and just you. I wouldn’t even use the same content online that another Heaven’s Best operator uses. Also, I don’t want them using content that they are paying for too, because other website will use that content too. If other websites are using that content, the search engines will see that.

However, in order to add pictures, video, and more content than just your basic business information, you’ll need to go to each search engine and claim your business.

Getting a link on facebook is as easy as creating an account and then posting the link. MerchantCircle is also free. Again, a company that knows about the internet should spell these companies correctly.

FYI: This guy may be honest and he may not be. I just get tentative of people that say they use a ‘trick’ to get you ranked higher anywhere on the internet. Sometimes those tricks are not honest and will later on penalize you on search engines. This penalization may be complete removal from the search results.
Side note: Just remember that any company calling you saying that Corporate has recommended them, don’t believe it. We very rarely recommend a company to all our operators. If we do, it usually will be to a few operators first and we would call each operator before the company we are testing calls them. Or if we recommend them to everyone, we would include it in the newsletters (hint, that’s why it’s important to read the newsletters) and we would probably put a link to their website in the operators section of http://www.heavensbest.com.
If they say someone referred their company to you, always ask who specifically, and then call that person to make sure they really did refer the company to you.
Darrell, may I ask you some questions about this.

2. Did you ask them to write this about you?
3. If you did, how much did you contribute to the content of the article?
4. Did you come over knowing that they would write an article about you?

Would you be able to share more about your side of the experiance?I think this is a perfect example of what will happen if you do ask if the customer does have a blog, facebook, myspace, twitter, etc. If they do, then ask them to write about their experiance or even just put a link to your webpage. Of course it may not be a county wide blog that thousands of people read, but it will be close friends and family that trust that person’s opinion and will call you when they need their floors cleaned.
This in turn will help with your landing page rankings, which will bring in even more jobs.
Side note: Blogs, facebook, twitter, myspace, and other social media are what search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Google) are starting to turn to also in order to decide where a webpage should be ranked in the search results.
Yes you can get an email account from the corporate office. The format is first initial and then your last name. So if I were an operator, then my email would be: [email=webmaster@heavensbest.com:1ear3s24]m.fokken@heavensbest.com[/email:1ear3s24].

You can use the Google keywords tool to look up good keywords. You have to be careful though, because a keyword may come up that has nothing to do with tile and grout cleaning. For example, if I were to search tile cleaner, I’m not looking for some one to clean my tile, but for a chemical to clean the tile.
One thing to keep in mind too, is that most people won’t search tile and grout cleaning and especially tile & grout cleaning. Most will probably search tile cleaning, tile cleaners, professional tile cleaners, tile cleaning companies, etc. I’m not sure about which ones, if any of these you would want to use, but just thought I would mention them as starting points.
I’m not a state owner, but just a thought, if it’s not too much to explain, what have you tried. Or what are you trying that isn’t working?
I’m not sure if this would work, but I just found out about this yesterday. So this is just an idea, not an edorsement or recommendation.
In advertising there are a lot of things to consider, but read your post Loren, I thought I would talk about how to pick the advertising time frames.
What I mean by that is do you advertise in one place continuously, off and on, or one place for a couple months another place for a couple months etc.
1. So continuous means advertising in the same place(s) all year round. This works, but in my opinion after a while, people tune out unless you are changing the ad every couple of months. There is a billboard here in Rexburg that is for the same company, but they change it up every once in a while (not enough in my opinion) but when they change it, I notice the billboard again.
2. Intermitten or non-continuous (I can’t remember the exact phrase) is when you advertise for a couple months and then stop advertising for a couple months and then advertise for a couple months. This I think is a good idea because you save money and when the advertising starts up again the ad seems fresh to the customers again.
3. The third, is when you have a continuous advertising campaign, but change to different medias throughout the campaign. Look at the schedule below. I’m trying to take into account that Heaven’s Best is more of a summer company. People are inside during the winter and outside during the summer. This also is important when considering time slots for each day and what days each week to advertise in.

This isn’t meant to be a all inclusive schedule, but that way you get the idea. This allows for a continuous pressence but gets to people at different times and through multiple media. I think this is what I would try so that way I could get into peoples’ minds when summer is starting so when they decide to have the carpet cleaned, they would call me. Maybe my thinking is backwards and you don’t need to advertise during your busy time, but rather during your slow time.But I just thought I would share my thoughts on the subject.
