Perma Plate or PermaPlate is a company that sells a fabric protector to high end car dealerships to spray inside cars as an add-on.

They have a warranty that lasts x number of years. If anything spills on the upholstery and won’t come out, they will get it out. So they are testing out Heaven’s Best to get the stains out.

John and Cody both say that if you do this right, you could get into the persons home to clean their carpet, hardwood, etc. The types of people that have permaplate’s fabric protector in their cars are usually making more money and drive more expensive cars. So their houses are bigger. So they have more to clean.

Side Note: If you can, when you have a question that could be it’s own topic, please start a new topic.

SOMT is correct. First you need to create a personal account. If you have one, I would create an account that is separate account for your business. You could use the name John Doe or something. Then you create what is called a Page.

So first go to http://www.facebook.com/ and create an account on the right.

After creating the account, go back to http://www.facebook.com/ and click the link at the bottom right “Create a Page for a celebrity, band or business.”

I have seen on other topics that people say the best form of advertising is word of mouth. This IS the new word of mouth. Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.

This topic has split into a lot of different topics. I would suggest if you have a specific question to either start a new topic or search for a topic that is similar.

Supermedia.com – I’ve seen their prices, but never looked into it.

AdWords (aka PPC or Pay Per Click) on a regular website – There is a lot to learn here. But the basic idea is, you sign up with google. Then you create a small ad. They approve the ad. Then it is published. Every time some one clicks your ad, you are charged. The person with the highest bid shows up first, then the second highest bid is second, and so on.

If you get friends and family to leave reviews.

    Make sure:
    – That you have actually cleaned for them.
    – They live in your area
    – They don’t use the same computer
    – They don’t leave a review all in one day, week

I would like to make a video like that too. But not sure where to get a truck mount system? Cost of buying one may not be worth it?

You may need to download an additional program. Just look for something like birthday reminder, appointment reminder, etc. There should be some free ones. However, you would need to enter in the information when you get the new customer and set it to remind you in the future.

That is why I suggest doing something like a birthday reminder program and just enter when you want to be reminded about their “Birthday.”

My advice (for what it’s worth):
Don’t be afraid to decrease or drop the phone books, IF your return is not worth it. Don’t think about the phone books as the only way to get customers, think of it as just another way to advertise. Let’s say you paid for a Bulletin Board and didn’t get a good return. You wouldn’t advertise there anymore. Think of the phone books like that, too.

Don’t be afraid to try other avenues of advertising, especially the internet. Don’t try just any internet advertising company, though. Call other types of service companies or talk to other businesses to see who they used for different things. (look through the bulletin board) In my opinion, with some advertising you will see a return right away but with others types you will not see a return for a couple months. So give it some time.

    FYI:
One way advertising companies track advertising is they use a different phone number for each media they advertise in for the company they are advertising for. So for yellow book they use phone #1, for dex phone #2, for newspaper phone #3, etc. That can get expensive and confusing, but that is one way to track the return. The free way to do it, is just ask where did you hear about Heaven’s Best before you ask about the job details.

That makes sense. That way you aren’t sub-consciously giving the impression that your competition is #1 and #2 and you are just there.

Eric, if you want me to change that, let me know. It may take a bit of photoshopping.

    Loren,
Sometimes, even though this may sound funny, I respond to my own posts to help archive the answer for myself later. If that makes sense. That way if I have the same issue and can’t remember what I did to fix it, I can go search and find the posts I did about it and read what I did the first time.

If you need new logos for your van, just give Adam a call or you can order them through the shopping cart. I’m not completely sure what we do about van logos, but I just hope that your van logo isn’t just half there.
