Does he mix his 101 and clean the van and pads too? Are you giving him the smaller/harder jobs? To be honest, if I had an employee, he/she would get all the work I didn’t want to do myself.

As a single truck operator who does all the work himself I’m probably at around $60 an hour gross including drive times, and I run 3 room specials for $99. Given your higher prices I would think your employee could do $60 an hour in his sleep.

Figure out how long it will take you to do and base your price on what your average per hour cleaning earnings are.

LOL, Mike, ain’t that the truth.

I’ve found I have to post vac just about every cut pile carpet I clean with the dirt napper.

    Here’s a good description, Dan.

Well I gave it another shot. After I posted about the T&G FAE experience I headed out to a frieze job. Of all the carpet types, frieze is the one I have the hardest time with. I used the FAE I had left from my T&G job this morning, it was still warm but it had sat for about 3 hours. I used it on the traffic lanes with the dirt napper and I was pleasantly surprised. Another pass with a finishing towel and it came out looking great. The funny thing is since I am so bad at cleaning frieze I really lowered the customers expectations, so everyone was really happy.

I used FAE on a T&G job today and I found it to not work at well as the hard surface cleaner. It could be just me though. Despite all the high marks FAE gets around here, I have never had any additional success with it on anything.

I was wondering the same thing myself. In the franchise information package it shows the operator using a green stripe pad on steps.

Thanks for the tip, Dave. I have a T&G job Fri and I’m going to try this.

Dave, you can go to your profile and change the time zone so it reflects where you are at.

    Where are you running it?

I have run it twice and broke even both times.

I got a bunch of crayon out of car upholstery using our regular 101 and a nylon brush. I’ve done the same thing on carpet using the dirt napper.

Mine has smelled like it was burning since the first time I used it. It looks like I may be next.
