How many people are still using the old system? I have a problem … I have closed out an invoice, because I we did the work and got paid. Now the customer is asking for a refund for 1/2 to the job. This NEVER happends. We can always fix a customer’s problem even if she is unrealistic with her request. But this time we just had to refund. I tried to Void the invoice, but it still shows up as income. How do I get rid of the invoice and put a new in for 1/2 the cost?

For those of you that are interest in Angie’s List, I just want to clear up how it works. A customer must recommend you as a “contractor” that is what they call you…. and once you have been listed and your services rated positive.. you will be contacted by Angie’s List to let you know that someone has rated you… only then will you be offered a chance to place an ad. All this does is move your name to the top of the list when someone searches for Carpet Cleaning in your area. I am at the top of the list for my area… but I do not have that many ratings. The ratings I have are all very positive and I would love for more people to rate me. I am not worried about what they will say b/c I do follow up calls with every cleaning and I know when someone is not happy so I can try to make it right. I like this idea where people share their good vendors with one another. I use this service and think it works. The customers that use it are high end and are willing to pay for great service. Just my thoughts.

We have been paying for top placement on Anglie’s List for the last 3 or 4 months. It has not resulted in a lot of dollars yet. It takes time because you have to build up referrals from your customer’s. They HAVE to go back on Angies List and Rate you. If they do not… it does not help you any.. The goal is to have a large number of good rateings and more people will be likely to go with you. I am still working on building my # of ratings. We have cleaned for a number of people that have found us on Anglie’s List…. but did not go back and rate us (even when I asked them to) But I talked to Matt from San Antionio and he says he gets LOTS of biz from Angie’s List. It is worth a try … does not cost much.. Hope that helps.
