Just for the good of all…the ONE thing we all can do to help ourselves is to purchase gas or diesel at the LOWEST possible price.

Please go to http://www.gasbudddy.com and find your state, county and city and find the lowest prices reported…I am stunned at the difference. For the sake of a couple miles and a 10-20 cent/gallon saving on 20-26 gallons is money in my pocket, not theirs.

Hope this helps someone…it helped me.. I check every time I get low and fill up.

I would never disagree with you Dennis, but I think many if not most enzymes are really activated by hot water…not tepid. But Cody is the expert on this and hopefully, he will enter and let us know the details…I use hot water from the tap as close to the time of the job as possible, but have, on occasion, used older…7-8 hours or so mixed FAE and it worked.

Cody…help… we are all using it, help us to use it right, please? Thanks, Dave

Look in your YB/YP and look up movers and also storage lockers/garages. When some of have too much stuff, instead of pitching it we store it and then when we go to retrieve one day…it may smell, be dusty or nasty from bugs, etd and they want it cleaned before going back to the house or giving away to others.

I am going to try to give some brochures to storage places as well as call on the movers…maybe even Budget or Enterprise since they rent vans for moving as well…

Just a couple of thoughts for the good of the order.

Just this morning Gordon, I received a call from a guy asking my pricing. I asked him where his home was located and then pressed him to come and see the carpeting to give a good quotation. He asked why I could not give a quote over the phone and I told him the Hollingsworth reasons..thanks Ron, and then he said he had a quote for $200 for 10 cleaning areas and whether I wanted to get the business or not…I said I could not beat that quote and then he asked why I charged so much, and I replied simply…”we are that much better.”

He mumbled something incomprehensible and then hung up….don’t I wish I could have been in that home for 6-7 hours cleaning? Not hardly…

    Just FYI…

PCBs are organic and gasoline is organic and every single chemical containing carbon is organic. And the opposite of organic chemicals are inorganic chemicals. This has been discussed before. Our 101 contains both… organic chemicals and inorganic chemicals. Dry Solvent and Citrus booster and many other of our chemicals are organic…not hardly safe nor environmentally friendly.

The way many of us use these chemicals is safe and some, it sounds, handle unsafely.

The way the word organic is used with respect to cleaning chemicals is not really very compatible with our cleaning chemistry. I would caution against using the word organic in any advertising or literature… our chemistry poses an acceptable, very low health risk if used appropriately. And compared to much of the stuff on the market…we are saints.

It would be nice to see something in writing from corporate regarding this issue. I sidestep these landmines people ask pretty well, but it would be nice to have some clarification from Cody to more acceptably answer some of these questions.

Remember…back to the discussion in LV regarding the use of Fabric Protector? Make sure you use a respirator when applying and open windows? Get plenty of ventilation in the room. Cody told us all those very words…How many of us do that?

And Fabric Protector is organic as well…

Be very cautious…you may be speaking with a chemist or someone who knows more than the operator about chemistry… Just my 2 cents, not to cause any commotion…just a few thoughts from moi.

    Great idea.

For a couple of motels locally, we use the luggage carts at the front door and make 1 trip of it.

The best way to nibble at the gas prices a little is to 1) slow down-we get better mileage even in a van at 50-55 than at 65-70 mph, 2) make sure tires are inflated properly, 3) don’t run air conditioning and 4) schedule tightly-from one job to the next. It will most probably get worse before it gets better…summer has yet to arrive!

We might research the web for more tips and better ones..

We vacuum the bag, wash out the cup, and then before using spray the inside and outside of the bag with Lysol…disinfects by killing germs, controls the first puff of dust when starting and smells a lot better than some of the rankness we have all witnessed. The Lysol kills the bacteria, causing the odors…works for us.

I did lip balm…1st cousin to pet jelly. I think I used TGP. May take a couple of shots, as I remember. It is clear and very difficult to see. It does attract dirt and that was why I returned, some residual I did not get out became dirty.

All gone now and have customer for life.

    Wish you the best,

I quoted $900 for a Sleep Inn, halls and steps cleaning. The owner called saying that he had a quote for $75 less from the largest carpet cleaner in the area (CC w/17 vans). I caved in and did the work for the few bucks less. The maids were all impressed.

I took the Manager around on a final tour and she said that it was certainly a much better job than CC had done 3 years ago and the carpet was not buckled. What? They had the suction side so high, it literally pulled the carpet from the concrete, and the carpet buckled down a hall and had to be replaced.

So, I did a better job, no hassles than the competitor…for his pricing!

I have done work for them since with rooms, etc, but I will not lower my prices again to meet competition…unless it makes sense, like it did the first time to get my foot in the door.

Almost all of our commercial customers have had many different cleaners in over the years and have received the same job…poor. Once we get in the door, do our thing, prove our worth so to speak, they are hard pressed to go back or rather down to the other guys.

I agree with Gordon…however, all the customer has previously seen is average or below results and when they see what we do, they will pay more.

    Just my 2 cents

We have added a $5 premium for longer jobs as well, never a separate charge though, just added onto the room/area charge. Causes no problems this way, or any raised eyebrows.

dumb question…$90 us or c $…just a little confusing if us $ and km mixed in same sentence for this non-km guy…

Thanks for the warm weather by the way Dennis…feels like spring! Finally
