I have been looking into a sprayer that is a power sprayer with a nice wand. They have adjustable tips (fan type) and deliver a much more even coat than the canister type.

Even HWE would be a battle..I have several banks that have entry areas like that, it will kill your wrists and back..not to mention your pads!!!! This was a learning experience and informed the mngr. that we could not help them on that type of floor covering, you see it really is not carpet…! Oh, your very lucky to only have that to be your first frustrating day…be prepared for more..!!

Using towels prior to buffing in some cases will work good. I use regular size bath towels, you can get 4 passes with them. If you spray the towel prior to use it will work good too..What I have found is that if you have to use several towels your better off extracting and then buffing…but who wants to do that!?

I have seen “dry in a couple hours instead of a couple days” in my area. If a HWE guy has the real deal as far as equipment is concerned and knows how to use it, they can dry faster than people think. If they have the ronco 200 well then…….It’s got to be like ….a… “Binford 2000”. Now your talkin….

You could always just extract them. Some people can’t be swayed. If it is a job you really want, just do what they want done and take the money. I had a client that had several rental properties and I was cleaning one for the renter after they moved out. The owner of the property saw that I was not doing extraction and said “all you are doing is grinding dirt into the carpet”. Well i did a little explaining but he did’nt want hear it he had someone come and extract it after…..I still got my money and was glad they don’t use us..

I did a job tuesday for a customer of mine and really wanted to leave and would have if it were’nt out in the sticks and it has been very slow. I informed them that I could not do anything about the odor or whicking because the urine was everywhere. Lets face it without real extraction capability you can’t really do justice with urine..sometimes it is better to use a .38
The carpet cleaned up O.K. however I am sure the odor will return.

I belonged to a BNI group for a short time and did the presentation and let me tell you this…10 minutes will fly by….I explained HWE as well as HB process. Passed around some before and afters as well. Did’nt really have enough time for a good Q&A. Practice your SPEEL the night before and you will see just how short a time you have.
    GOOD LUCK

I have done home shows in the past..they work fairly well. It is all about the space location, Then how good your spot looks. Get the banner from HB, a good table, and brush up on your public relations skills. The giveaway or discounts are up to you. ( I offered protector or percentage discounts off my running ads). I wore a nice polo shirt, docker type pants and my HB badge. The fist few times we had our booth set up like a room. Asked a local carpet store for a remnant, put a arm chair, antique dresser, floor lamp etc..put the table at the back if area is large enough.
Palm springs has some very high end places and lots of retirement folks. If you are running as owner operator make that clear, people love that.
Do your homework as far as what the other guys are offering and charging. Be ready to explain the HB process, some people don’t know anything about it. I would guess that hard surface flooring is popular there, we get the old “I have hardwood floors” that is when I reply “we clean upholstery too”. Smile and be upbeat….GOOD LUCK. You have some killer golf courses there and they have as much carpet as they do grass……..$$$$

I bought a small hand truck at home depot, bolted the sprayer to it and it works fine..i extended the sprayer hose to 30 ft and added quick connects so i can extend it to 50ft. I am using ramps for my equipment (in and out of the van) save your back you are going to need it!!! Remember to lift with your legs not with your back!!!!

think about a truck mount running the entire time it is being used to clean whatever it is they are cleaning. I inform callers of that as well, i try not to give any more information on cleaning products than needed. I’m sure you have all heard of TMI…to much information
