HBplantcityflaParticipant
You know, I have been thinking about changing my pricing lately and I definately will take this into consideration. I usually charge 30 cents for moveouts, 35 cents for regular cleanings, up to 40 cents if they are dirty or more time consuming. and 15 to 20 cents for protectant. There are just too many variables in cleaning to have one set price for cleaning. What do you all think? Incorporating it all into a 3 tier would also be an option. Basic, premier, and executive, etc.
HBplantcityflaParticipantAll of my advertising has the headline DRY IN 1 HOUR. SO, I get a lot of callers asking yeah is this DRY IN 1 HOUR? It always kind of makes me laugh. Since I get this too, I get tonz of calls of people wanting toilet overflows or things like water heater clean ups all the time. I REALLY need to get a water claw.
HBplantcityflaParticipantWOW Jeff! Do you ever get any complaints? What about move outs? I rarely do protectant on move outs. Sounds to me like the way to go. I just am scared of losing work.
HBplantcityflaParticipantDitto. I have come across situations once in a while like that. Just learn from it and move on. That is all you really can do. I think that you did do the right thing though by trying to make things right. She may still be upset but the fact that you tried to fix it, proves that you did not intentionally try to tip her off. And although she may not use you again, your chances are much better that she will not tell the whole world that you “ripped her off”. No good advertising is much better than alot of bad advertising. Hope some of this helps with your venting.
HBplantcityflaParticipantHas anyone heard anything on the video? I have my kit and am still wondering about how to get started.
HBplantcityflaParticipantAMEN to that AMMON!
HBplantcityflaParticipantThank you for the input so far guys! I think we are on the same page now. What I think I will do is just start introducing more new pads! So, as far as the salmon go, Yeah, it has been horrible up here. The reds were very slow on the Russion River, Silvers, slow too. There seems to be a really late run that is starting up, hopefully I will get in on it. I got lucky this year though. Since I am now an Alaskan resident, I am able to dipnet. SO, a few weeks ago, I went out on the Kenai river, and netted 28 fish about 4-8 pounds each in about 3-4 hours. IT WAS AWESOME! I have a chest freezer full of salmon and halibut! It should last quite a while. That is if my wife doesn’t make me smoke them all. HE HE. Anyway, I know that all of you are pretty busy, but if you ever make it up here to Alaska, I am the biggest outdoor nut up here. I carry my fishing rod in my van next to my metal detector! But if you come up to visit family, at any time of the year, give me a call and we will go out, maybe walk on a glacier.
HBplantcityflaParticipantGreen stripe pads Ron. Today, I went out and used my new pads on a job. It was kind of a softer loose berber. I was amazed at the difference the new pads were on the carpet verses my old pads. There was alot of dirt that came out. BUT, even though I used little solution, the carpet was still very wet, and the pad had not soaked up any water. SO, I had to use a woven turf pad to absorb the remaining water. Is anyone else having to do this with Olefin Berber?
HBplantcityflaParticipantI have talked with them, they confronted Tuway who claimed that they have not changed yarns in 2 years. I beg to differ. At one point, about 2 years ago, there was a batch of pads that came through that were different. I didn’t clearly understand why, but I am wondering of some of the were sent to me and I ended up liking them. I don’t know. If that is the case, anyone who may still have theirs,……. thats a different road. The thickness is no comparison. The old pads were denser, thicker, and softer. The newer pads are thinner, more course feeling, and not as dense. I wouldn’t have a problem if I could just figure out the best way to use them effectively. Any help would be great.
HBplantcityflaParticipantI booked and completed my first job about 3 weeks ago. $80 in about 25 minutes. I was wondering though. Are you all charging the most possible? They told me that I could bill up to an hour and a half. I only billed an hour. If you do bill the full amount, how do you justify it. I guess I could just do it by applying a minimum to each job as I would do with regular residential service.
HBplantcityflaParticipantI have had lots of emails from this topic asking what my profile looks like. Here is a link to my profile. http://heavensbestcarpetclean.servicemagicpro.com
HBplantcityflaParticipantI have never tried Val-Pac, but I will speak from experience though as I am sure that many others do, I open the valpac up each time I get it, if there is anything that I will be using within the next very short time, I will keep the rest immedietly goes into the trash, I hate loose leaflets hanging around. Personally when I was faced with the decision of valpac and another company, I chose the other company. It was a coupon booklet that people were more inclined to hang on to. Since then however, I have changed and am getting out of that book and want to move to a high gloss full color home magazine. Little more expensive, but attracts the client that I am looking for. (I don’t want everyone anymore)
My 2 Cents
HBplantcityflaParticipantI used it where a mexican silk rug had left red on the carpet, and VOULAA! It took work, but came out. AMAZING!
HBplantcityflaParticipantSince I remove the metal fitting from the top of the bag, I have NEVER had a problem with the puff, and I am confident in starting the vacuum in front of the customer every time.
HBplantcityflaParticipantActually if you are UPWIND of the dust, no problem. If no wind, you can create it with the air from the hose, works awesome!
