    Hey Ron, No offense taken.
Some of the make up of a state owner is to look at the big picture and see things in the long run. With that being said, Every state owner in this subject section has also an operating area. We also have the same “new logo” expense. No one has close to the expense of change over than Cody does. He is paying $400 of the $1600 expense to have the logos on the vans installed.( not to mention the total amount for research before all this got started) He understands as most all state owners and city owners alike. The new logo will make a difference in the long and short run. We have had many examples of city owners that have replied about how well people have responded to the change. There is allot more up than down to this change. You just have to see the beauty in the forest not just the sap on the tree. Breath in, breath out! Every thing with in it’s time. I also have to budget for things. This year alone I have had over $25k in out of pocket medical expense. We can always find someone worse off than us. Life is great! Heavens Best is among that great!

Ditto! I couldn’t agree more DB! From one member of the family to another… It is good to demand better of ourselves but we will almost always get disapointed when we demand it of others. Image on the van takes a back seat to the image from attitude. Having the confidence with a winning attitude with a good name will excell you above all! The van can be fixed. Can the image of attitude be saved and maintain our customer base? A bad attitude can destoy a business as quick as a sloppy job. Keep your chin up! It’s amasing what you can do with an optomistic attitude! Remember your first few months?

Are you sure this isn’t just another halloween story? This almost sounds to good.
The moral of the story is… If you want people to remember your life instead of your death (and funeral) don’t request a blood sacrifice at your funeral.
    Truly a great story!

I haven’t seen an agenda so I’m not sure what all we are to do with this time. Is this the time we hand out awards, give (State of the State) stat’s on how well the state(‘s) have increased in volume, play cheer leader, rock out to “Lean on me”, or give away my Z3 BMW? All the above?

Ammon, I feel almost all will get in line as time goes on. The ones that don’t are the ones that have no vission and in the long run, well we don’t want them. We are asking owners to be a team player for the franchise and for themselves.
As I called each if my owners and invited them to the multi-national seminar (I was very optimistic, I really thought all would go). All but two said yes. A few weeks later I called the home office to see who had made reservations at the excaliber. Of those that didn’t, I called. A few were planning on staying elsewhere, relitives or time shares (even though I agreed to pay the motel) and three more are off the list from going. I still have 81% going. (22/27) The question I have is… WHAT DO I DO WITH THOSE NOT COMING?

Ditto w/ Bryan. Except I use color fast bleach. The pads and towels last allot longer. I also reserve the used (off white-gray) pads still in good shape, for non-residential work.

    Jeol,
With water stains, I first use cleaner mixed with Citrus booster (water based solvant) and clean with regular cleaner, spraying heavier in effected areas. If it comes back I repeat spraying lightly and apply protector. If citrus booster w/cleaner doesn’t budge it I go to the rust remover and flush. (Of course only in the problem area.) Then repeat the cleaning with CB/101 cleaning, then regular cleaner to finish. Protector if needed. (as well as adds to the bill).

When I cleaned for a motel that was by hells canyon, I would get calls from them to clean after a leaky ice chest of fish had left a strong odor. I charged them more them anyone else, but they continued to call me because they said I could remove it best. It was not wool, but I used 1/3 OD to 2/3 reg. cleaner. If you try this with wool, try a covered corner first to check for a reaction. If this doesn’t work… GO FISH! Anyone else?

Brian, The price of the ad is second to it’s usage. Do you track how your customers are finding you? Is Dex the most used book in your area? You have a great reputation! Do you have the employee’s in place for the increase in business? Do your employee’s get paid based upon customer satisfation?
In many cases establishing the business end of business will determine it’s growth. It’s a bounce between 100% quality work and running a business. For example… 1. evaluation cards 2. reminder cards (every six months) 3. newsletters (take allot of time but become very important in building dominance.) 4. have a checks and balance program set up. (have the employee report something good about the person or place, have a person call each customer, within 24hrs of job. “Hi, Mrs. Jones, this is Jenifer from the Heaven’s best quality control division. Earlier today Heaven’s best cleaned your carpets, is that right? Can I ask a few breif questions about their appearence and quality of their work? By the way, Brian your cleaning tech, said he loved the blue carpet “(the stone drive way, you husband’s model T in the garage or what ever good he had to report positively). Ask a few questions fron the eval card and them say, “Brian recommended that the carpet be cleaned every six months.(nine months or a year, What ever is recommended) Could I scedual that for you and have a reminder card sent out about three weeks before the date of cleaning?”
Most of us are extremely good at cleaning and rely solely on advertising and let the business run us insted of us running the business. There is not a wrong way between the two, it’s what you want out of the business or what you want to make of it.
