From past experience, having done two at the same time, in my area they both wanted them done on Sunday or Monday. (least amount of rooms rented) I don’t work Sunday’s and the main motel was done weekly. (10 rooms). I worked the weekly motel first and the second was monthly in the afternoon. Also when the rooms were done together it was great. When there was one room done on the 4th floor, then two far apart on the sixth floor, then… well that stunk!!! You can’t come out on it to make it worth your while. Getting them all done in a few days is the way to go if posible, once or twice a year. Like anything else, some are not what you want, some are good, and some are great! January is a great time to experment to find the best! Good luck!

    Really good post Greg,
I have also found that the mugs, pens, and mints go over real well. These places like then so well, in one place they got into a unfriendly situation as to who earned the mug more than the other. When I heard of this I returned with another mug and was the HERO again. They eat the mints, use the pen, and value the mug. All have your name on it! It does make a difference. Can you imagine the look on your compititors face when he trys to sell himself on a large property management place and sees on all the desks mugs with the name HEAVENS BEST. Money well spent!

    This is good!
The main thing in talking on the phone, is to show confidence. Confidence in you, your products and your ability. When you have the confidence, you expect people to use your service and because they have confidence in you they buy the protector because you say with confidence it will make a difference. Help me out here, I’m not sure how else to say this. True confidence (with experience) makes all the difference, far more than a script.

Dave, Very good question. I too have questioned the same. When I had a truck mount system, it ran off a Kohler engine ( I love the name!) It run off of gas. Now that I have sold it, I too would like to know what to buy. I know it must have enough juice to run the buffer without straining the source. If so it will quickly ruin it or not run at all. Also keep in mind, many times you will need a heavy duty 50ft or 100ft extention cord to get everywhere you need to. The longer the cord the more juice you will need.

I’ve done this several times in the past (5 kids). It’s fun. First don’t expect much from it. It’s a name on a team shirt, there’s allot of teams. Second and most important is how you act and comduct yourself on the field. If you become a jerk. Don’t expect to get a call. Not one. Remember who you are! Be heaven’s Best! Treat each kid as an angel and you will pass out allot of business cards. Many times I got more calls after the season then during. The key is… If you really care about the kids and it shows, you will care about the carpet… and the loyal calls will come.

Fast acting enzyme is a must for grease traffic patterns out of the kitchen. We had this discussion about a year ago. Some said FAE, some strong mix of quick boost with cleaner mixed, and some with cleaner, quick boost, and citrus booster (water based solvant). I came to the conclusion that the products discribed work a little different in each area through out the countrys. Many minerals in the water, soil, or even clay like soil. Each take on a little difference for the best results. Sadly one product is not the best for each time and place. In my area, I found FAE for grease as statedabove. Also 1 1/2 gallons of regular cleaner in a 2 gallon pump sprayer, 1 1/2 caps of quick booster, mix well. add 4oz. of citrus booster, mix well again, pump and good to go. I use regular cleaner the first time over, some times it does the trick. I always finish with the regular cleaner sprayed the last time over to bring back the ph balance before going on to the next room or area.
P.S. Your results may vary. See owners manual for instructions. This is only to be done by an insured professional. Do not try this at home! Just joking, ha ha.

The van looks great but without the spiffy wheels in my great states (sorry) it may only qualify for the fun size. Brian Sutton, Bryan Ferris, Bill Newton, and Randy Bailey, all from Iowa all have a van strait from Heaven! They all have very, very impressive vans. Jeremy Child in Portland Oregon has two vans he keeps showroom ready! On a rainny day in Portland (it’s known for it) he wipes down the van in front of the home before approaching the customer. And yes the wheels are polished! These vans are extra great vans with guys putting extra great care for their vans and equipment. I’m very proud of my operators. They are great examples in so many ways.
And Mike you are not on santa’s notty list! I checked! (only once)
