    Dan,

The regular pad will work a little better, However, either one works well.

I use the turf pads most of the time. The only time one use the regular green stripe pads is to finish after the towel. The carpet just looks better and is fluffier too.

As the one responsible for introducing the towel into the heavens best cleaning, I must admit that the very last time over should be done with a green strip pad. I can’t explain how but the carpet looks better and is fluffier as well.

The last time I remember someone talking about a “life time warranty” Is a gal that had a Kirby vacuum. When something went wrong she took it in and the rep said that the life of it was gone therefore so was the “life time warranty.”

When you read the fine print on the carpet warranty you see right away, there is no warranty. “Not covered in traffic areas, places where there has been spills,” etc. I came to the conclusion that the only part of the carpet that was covered was under the couch, and thats only if they never move it.

It seems the only warranty coverage is when a local distributor wants to give a discount towards a new one.

I don’t have much faith in manufacture that tries every way possible to get out of their obligation, and covering themselves and instead of the warranty.

I have found out through the years, radio only helps to build credibility not results. Radio really helps when you add additional advertising such as fliers, TV, newspaper, etc. As I said, it seems to support something else to give it more credibility, thus better results. Radio alone hasn’t done much for results for me.

    Don’t be discouraged.
    1 county, 24k, 4 phone books.

It’s not a big deal, choose the phone book that will give you the results and don’t worry about the others.

It is true you have to be in the books. You don’t need a half page in all of them. In fact, the book isn’t always what will give you the best return. Check in to other means of advertising and keep a sharp eye in where the calls are coming from.

Apples & Oranges, I love it!

Does AMC charge average prices? Do they only pay average for the carpet? Seats? Movie screens? Do you only show average movies? Do they use an average mechanic, tax adviser, or doctor? Do they understand that quality isn’t average? Do they drive an average beater? Or do they drive a quality auto? If they only want average and don’t care about quality, well, ask if the carpet and seats were wet for (an average) two days, and smell musty, would that matter?
I don’t want to work for an average price, I don’t do average work. I didn’t sign up with an average franchise. I’m glad I don’t have an average family, life, or job for that matter.

    Dave,

You posted a brag about your daughters wedding in the for sale section. With #1 daughter married “absolutely perfect wedding”, is #2 daughter for sale? How old is she. I have a 22 yr old son… Just joking!!!

Dave, I am just joking. I’m happy for you and your family.

My daughter in Jan.07 got married and I didn’t know if I should brag about her marrying a great guy, or the comment about how it about broke me.

If you are one who doesn’t feel you can go the “protect or nothing” path, you may go to the “gold, silver, or bronze” cleaning (offering two or three chooses to customers). It can be a place to start if you are struggling to get enough work to pay the bills.

    FYI,
Just so you know, Brian feels, as well as many others feel that if it’s worth cleaning , it’s worth protector. If they don’t care what the job looks like when it’s done, we don’t care to do the job. I realize when you are starting out, you need all you can get. ($ & experience) For those that have been in long enough to pay the bills and then some, really desire only the customer who cares about quality and can afford it. I hope this helps.

A couple of things , Gary.

!. What is in your newspaper ad?
“price out of line”, maybe not enough?

    2. When you approach the property management Company’s, What’s your approach like?
It needs to be prepared and polished. Plan on leaving more than your business card.
Build a book of 1.”letters of recommendations”, 2.”evaluation cards” mostly those of people well known in the community and writing in the comment section, and 3, “before and after pitchures”. (Note: all one book)

Leave with them the Heaven’s Best folder. In it, have the insurance info, intro to Heaven’s Best, copies of leter of recommendations from those in there field (or competitors), MSDS sheets (for basic items used), many other things could go in it.

Leave the mug with mints, pins, and a few business cards.

Then ask to do a demo.

Prepare to do a prepentation done just for just them. It will show you cared about them. That you are the answer to their problems. Not just there to get a check.

How much do you really want their business? It will show in the amount of preparation you do.

When you get it for one it will be allot easier for the next. Learn from each.
