ParticipantMatt,
Yeah, then we would have the best of both worlds. Maybe we as operators could event out own vaccums, buffers, etc.

ParticipantWhat would you recommend. Just would like to use it for Heaven’s Best business stuff and for the web. Maybe some accounting stuff, scheduling, personal finances, etc.

ParticipantOfcourse I will pick the stros. I live in Texas and am 4 hours south of Houston. However, the Sox derserve to win a series. But the Astros have never been and never won. So, go Astros. I will say Astros in six.

ParticipantI have heard from other operators that red dye remover works good and our new pet enzyme should work well also. I say new. It’s new to me. We joined the Heaven’s Best family in June of 2004. So most of my experience has been with the old pet enzyme which worked great but took a lot longer. I had the same situation last Friday. Just follow the instructions, to the T, for the pet enzyme. Keep in mind that the amount of time the stain has been there and what has been used on it can affect the outcome of your work.

ParticipantDsmall, So the dyson didn’t get all the dirt out. Thats interesting. Maybe the newer models work better. The guy on the commercial says it spins the dust out of the air but from what I understand, matter is neither created not destroyed, so who knows.
Dryin1hr,
No I don’t think Cody does but hopefully some more operators will get a word in on experiences with the Dyson. All I know is that it sucked the cat hair right off the floor better than the conquest but I still love our conquest. I do need to wash the bag. That is probably why.September 6, 2005 at 1:50 am in reply to: Which pads REALLY work the best (everyone, please weigh in) #145235FL18

I have success with all the pads. But, depending on how soiled a carpet is, depends on what pad I will use. Overall though, all of them seem to work just fine. If I have a favorite, it would be the “greenies” or green turf strips. BBC is second, woven in third and bringing up the rear is the white pads.

When we started here in South Texas (150,000 plus people), we started with friends and family. Give them all business cards. Get into home shows. My wife and I put all we had, moneywise, into the franchise when we started in June 2004. Phone book didn’t come out untill 6 months after we started. So that kind of bit the big one. We made our own flyers, about 2000 to 3000 and went doot to door just hanging them on door knobs. Probably got about 10 to 20 calls off those. We took half of those flyers and placed them in Restuarants, womens health clinincs, carpet sales stores, apartment complexes, etc. One apartment complex called and we haven’t had to put flyers since. Our business is 70% commercial as a result. That one complex turned into 10 or more within a 6 to 7 month period. Only problem with being commercial is that most of them work on a Net 30. It pays when the cash starts rollin in. Some go beyond the 30 days and it hurts, but then the bill is higher because you will ad late fees. Go out to hotels and apartment complexes, condos, or any business with carpet. Free demos are a must to get your foot in the door. Every demo we have done has landed us the job. Apartments and hotels are usually vaccumed already so they have cut your time by nearly half. After that we didn’t have to do many flyers and phone book(2 inch ad), gets us about 5 to 10 calls a week, sometimes more. This size ad is all we could afford. Big ad’s don’t necessarily get you more calls. We have not tried the direct mailers but have heard that they work well. Any questions call 956-607-4975.
Happy cleaning,
