ParticipantNo problem. That’s why we are here. If you just started out the franchise then get your feet wet with all of them so that you get comfortable with a certain kind. I would hate for you to order some pads to quickly find out you might change your mind. You really can’t go wrong. The solution and your hard work are what produces the best results. Well, the pads are a big player, but you know what I mean. Hope all is well.
God Bless,

ParticipantThat’s cool. I honestly don’t have much competition down here, believe it or not. There are about 50 total carpet cleaners. One that actually cleans, us of course. Only franchises, as far as competition is concerned, are chem-dry, steamatic, rainbow and service master. None compare. Chem Dry, I guess, is my biggest cocern. Not really though, because we pick up a lot of their mess-ups and bad service. The other 45 or so are no names that average a business life of 5 or 6 months. Correct me if I’m wrong, you used to work or own a chem-dry franchise (Joey). What made you change, or what is the biggest difference when it comes to the cleaning process? I’m just curious. I might make a post about this queation later and you can re-answer so others can see or read about it.

ParticipantYou know Jason, A lot of operators out there may or may not have computers or internet access. Some operators may not know how to use the internet. I know I was in 8th grade when the internet was starting to become popular and then was added as a class in high school. No offense to older generations here but a lot of them may not know how to use a computer. Very intimidating if never used. I’m sure this may not be the case. I hope it’s because their slammin with business and don’t have as much free time as I do to get on here and yap yap yap. Who knows. I’m trying to get Violet Aden in Corpus Christi to use the internet more often. She has a lap top, but no service. She usually goes to local hotels and logs on. Give her a call maybe and let her know the benefits of this board. Coming from me is different then someone from corporate. It shows how much you care and feel about this beautiful tool.

ParticipantAnother great thing is that, as asked above, I applied it with a mop. The process goes like this:
1. Clean/Buff
2. Tile and grout brush (handle brush provided by corporate), to clean grout real good. Very tuff because grout is so wide but yet another justification for price.
3. Apply seal with a mop. (2 coats) 30 minute dry time in between coats.
4. Apply Finish with a mop. (2 or more coats depending on how porus tile is) 30 to 45 minute drying time in between coats. You will notice this is very similar to the process used by Heaven’s Best.

ParticipantI had to use an outsourced product with corporate permission because our products have never been used on this type of tile, usually found in southern, southwestern united states. I cleaned, sealed and used a finish. It looks great. I appreciate the reply and comment. John at corporate recommended against using our products to be on the safe side. The products used were made for this particular type of tile, also known as Mexican tile. Some people call it terrazo. It is highly porous and drinks up product but results are excellent and justified with charging a good dollar amount for it. I am currently in negotiation to do the rest and am waiting to hear from the client if price is accepted. The products used work on all types of flooring but in fairness to corporate and because of the binding contract we have with corporate, I will be using Heaven’s best products on other types of tile in the near future. For now though, I plan to use this product on this type of tile because I see it in the majority, 75 to 85% of houses and businesses I clean. Probably has to with the culture here in South Texas, which is 95% hispanic/mexican- american/mexican. You would probably see a lot of this in Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico, Nevada. I don’t know that for sure but it is popular down here. I am about 1 mile north of Mexico. This tile is fairly cheap but expensive when purchased and installed due to 3 inch gap in between for the grout. Why so big, I don’t know but it sure does look nice. You will notice in the pictures how wide it is between the tiles.
Thanks again,
Mike 😀

ParticipantI had to replace my whole buffer not too long ago. I had to take all the guys out and put in a new shell. It cracked up by the handle, right under the warnings on back of buffer. I’m glad it worked out for you. All you can really do, unless there is a service center near you, is take it apart and put pieces in some kind of order and put them back in exactly as you pulled them out, then pray a little, and rev her up. I was overly excited when mine fired up. There was nothing wrong electronically. It was just the shell. The handle was one of the easiest parts.

ParticipantThat’s right Gordon. We did a 3 by 2 inch ad in the “most commonly used” yellow pages and it worked great.

ParticipantYou are correct. I believe it to be #2 or maybe even number 1 in the nation. I know Vegas is in there some where. Thanks for comments. I believe the population from here to brownsville to be around 1,000,000 or so. That’s just the legals. No offense to anyone. Wow, you lived in the valley too huh. That’s crazy. Yep, have your friends give us a call. I’ll give them a heck of deal on your behalf.
Thanks again,
