1st Heaven’s Best teleconference, 41/2 stars, I must agree with Laura, We all need to have a quite room, I know I’m getting old and my hearing is not the same, but I missed some of the conversations because of a lot of background noise.
I will do my best to have all operators in FL. join LMCCA. When I got back from Vegas seminar, I got almost 50% to join and as Ammon asked what do they do for us? is a good question, I felt we need some trade organization to represent us and they looked better than what was in second place. I’m sure they have room for improvement, but we need them! John where are you? you can explain this “outfit” better than anyone else.

    Gordon,

I have had many ideas over the last 17 years with this Co. “shot down” I have also had many ideas that corporate liked and put in place. We can not stop sharing ideas because we all don’t agree. As far as getting my people to sell franchises for me, I have never liked the idea. Cody has told me many times the number 1 way of sales in this company is through existing operators. Not in my state!! Correct me if I’m wrong, if I have 15 operators who do 4 jobs a day, assume all customers send in evaluation card, that’s 300 thank you letters I have to write every week. I think there are better ways to make sales, Number 1 we need corporate on board with a lease/ finance Co. that will get all state owners their money at signing of contract. I’m in franchise sales not a mortage company. I need to spend more time making my operators better at what they do, not writing letters to their customers. We have taught them, it’s their job to send out Thank You cards. I would love to advertise, A full start-up business (inculding van) all can be financed for $500.00 a month with $5,000.00 down or something close to those terms.

    Dennis,

In using your words: without calling it a test, when will it be ready? I would like to submit it to my people (with plenty of time) so I might get an idea what I need for topics at our annual Fl. seminar. Am I correct, it should show the operators strengths and weaknesses?

Two quick things I missed in my post. We are trying to make our customer base a captive audience, so they won’t even look for another cleaner, and corporate has given us the o.k. to put our Fl. web site address on the vans. (exposure, exposure, exposure).

    Thanks Dennis,
What panic? Ive been shorting those banks, brokers and home builders for 2-months. Enough of that. Here’s some thought that I need answers on, please. All my people will have nice colored post card size (heavy weight)paper that read (at my expense) DID YOU LIKE OUR CLEANING SERVICE TODAY? If answer is yes please make us your FAVORITE cleaner!!! They would then put my Florida web site address in their computer, which lists all my operators. If they don’t know how to make us a favorite we will take the time and show them. After they put us on as a favorite, the next time they need us, go on our web site, book with us and get (I’m not sure yet, need some help) a free room cleaned, 5% discount, free spotter, free room of protectant, something of that nature. These post cards will also tell the customer we do leather, tile etc. etc. I could not believe how many jobs my people book and the customer is never home (we don’t get the chance to promote our business the way we should), They don’t know all of the services we offer, just carpet cleaning. This card will be as important to leave in the home or office as the invoice or evaluation card. These post cards that were left with the satisfied customer, now can be handed out to their friends or neighbors for more Heaven’s Best exposure. I need feed back (want to introduce something like this at my next seminar).
    Thanks Again

    Ammon,

Help me out, about the only thing I know about internet is I trade stocks real fast!!!!!! Are you saying that people in Florida who need some sort of cleaning done, will go to corporate web site before my web site? Am I wasting my money having a web site in Florida for all my operators? Any help you can give me or any one elses help on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ron

I was kind of thinking that the corporate web site, (viewed by many from all over) would be geared for Franchise sales and our individual state web sites would be geared toward cleaning for all of our city owners.

    Ammon,
You are correct, LET’S CLARIFY!!! I do not pay anything for an operator selling part of his existing area. I pay $1,000.00 finder fee to any Florida operator who brings me new lead and I close on new area. (I’m not even interested in how he or she got lead, maybe from their customer, maybe from relative , maybe they even decided to run ad in local newspaper to help me out.(Ha Ha)

    Hello Gordon,

Some of my thoughts on your questions. I did not know we had a standard fee of $500.00. I was told that was a guide line and I offer my people only in the state of Florida, $1,000.00, have done this for a number of years now. (Still doesn’t seem to work! maybe not enough yet.) If my franchiseee gets a lead from one of their customers and refers it to me, and that lead becomes a buyer in Florida, my franchise gets $1,000.00 to do with as he or she pleases. If that lead were to purchase a franchise in one of your states, you would pay them $500.00. nothing to me or their customer. I’m not saying the above is correct, just the way I’ve been doing it for a number of years, (with corporates knowledge).
At present, I don’t think any of my people have anything setup for referral job fees, maybe something I need to research more.

    Laura,
That was a great post, any chance you can post that on the city owner B.B. so all of my people and others can read it?
    Thanks,

    Hi Bryan & Vicki,

I feel exactly the same way you do when it comes to those $4,000.00 monthly reports(or even less!!!!), How can anyone take out expenses and live on that??????. It’s taken me a while to find an answer to your question, but I don’t feel that I can put the good, bad, and ugly all in one barrel, so I will not do an average. With out being long winded I will try and explain shortly but the numbers run something like this, 1 0ver $15,000.00, 3-4 at, $8,000.00, 3-4 @ $2,000.00-$4,000.00, and the rest in between. (of course these are monthly figures). I have one operator who has been with me for 16 years, Does everything right and grosses max. $50,000.00 year after year. His wife has excellent job with all benefits, This man believes in picking his children up from school everyday, He has been coach of daughters soccer team, coach of son’s baseball team, etc. etc. Information I have recieved over the years from wife, parents and friends: This man is the best father and husband anyone could ask for!!! He is the type of operator, we all want to represent our company. I will close with: I don’t like the numbers but I wish I had more just like him!!!!

I have also sent all my people an e-mail, explaining how it helps them, to keep our company #1. Bryan, not only may they hit the delete button to junk mail but mine came in under junk mail!!! I now always check junk mail as well as inbox because other important “stuff” from Corporate has gone there from time to time.
