ParticipantIm sure you are all aware that advertising dollars do not have to be just for internet and newspaper ads, my best sale was a franchise show several years back, I sold 2 and they have turned out to be great operators. We all want to hear ways of sucessful advertising and the above is one way. I had a posting a while back about doing our own road shows (Chem/Drys way) and asked for suggestions, I only got one answer from Bryan, so I’m assuming that does not work for most of you!!!!!!!!!! Please give this some thought! The problem with the franchise show is, (1) expensive ($2,000.-$2,500.) for two days, (2) you have tremendous competition 60, 70, 80 other franchises and (3) they got so expensive at the door, people stopped coming!!!!!! If we pool together and do our own shows (way less money)with all our new “tools” corporate has given us, I’m SURE we will have SALES.

P.S. I would like this to be a topic to discuss at S.O.M. Anyone agree?
If sides have to be taken,I will agree with Ammon that his internet advertising costs should be less than mine, 4 million pop for his state, 16 million for minechez6996
ParticipantAmmon,
I just noticed on signing off, that there have been 56 views of this posting, and I counted only 7 replies. This is a State owners only section I was told? What does that tell you!!!!!!

Participant:lol:I’m for leaving it as is for one year and than talk about it again, (State owners meeting). I guess I’m one of the larger states you refer to, but if I make more sales, I will contribute more $$$$$ to the advertising fund. I think we get much more “bang for our buck” by shared advertising than all going it alone. Good question about more than 1 state owners paying more, Appx. 16-17 state owners, who’s paying for the other states??????? I’ve had many leads, but no sales yet, a few though are looking o.k. I just finished talking with Cody about many leads do not look good from the “get go” not sure if I want to send brochure, dvd and mailing cost to some of these leads??
Open for suggestions!!!!!!

ParticipantHow well balanced the operator is between business and family life
How timely are monthly reports
Does operator follow the license agreement
Does operator use and carry all products offered
Is operator growing business year over year

Participant💡 Thanks for the “warm” welcome guys. This probably should be posted under Bryan’s asking about marketing ideas over a year ago but I hope more people will read it here. We are all interested in selling more franchises to “good” people, so instead of reinventing the wheel, why don’t we do what Chem Dry did to get over 5,000 franchises. I was told by an x C.D. operator that they did a road show. I’ve talked to Cody about this in length and was getting ready to try one when the Hurrricanes hit us. We sell a protected territory so we only need one person to buy in that area. My thoughts go something like this, Rent meeting room at local hotel/motel with marque sign and advertise in local newspaper a few weeks before that you will be at such and such hotel on this date to explain a future for you, come for free and we feed you a deli lunch, we explain our business and tell them only one in the room can buy because of protected territory, unless you want to move to another town/ city. maybe I can go and help you with your first one or you can come to Florida and help me with my first one, Need ideas to make it happen!!!!!!!!

P.S. The home office has now given us great tools for this to work, DVD, new brochure, nice shirts etc.etc.chez6996
Participant😀 Greetings from the deep South!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Between Cody, Dennis, and Bryan the 3 have shamed me onto the B.B.
As most of you know, I own a construction businesss in Florida with a full partner, After hurricanes 2 years ago we became busy day and night and my H.B. business suffered . Hopefully that is winding down and I will get back to what I like to do best, Fish and sell H.B. franchises. I’m leaving in the morning for my summer home in NH (Maggie’s been there since end of may)I have a lot to say about H.B. business in general and will stay in touch in the future. Go get those sales in the neighboring towns Dennis!!!!!!!
