Just returned from Hawaii!!!! Give me the dates and I will be there.
Ronchez6996ParticipantDennis,
I will be glad to do it first, have one planned in May sometime if Corporate comes through on their end. I think the radio and newspaper both are a must. I have polled all my people many times and as I’ve told Gordon on the phone, Not one of my people, including myself planned on buying a Carpet Cleaning business!!! They all said they became educated about Carpet Cleaning by me over the phone, or at shows they attended. They came to shows because the ad, Business Opps. get rid of your boss, make money, have a financial future, schedule your time, etc. etc. caught there eye (or ear).
Ronchez6996ParticipantDennis,
I forgot to mention, they are doing Franchise & Business Op. show in London ON. on 4/14 15 and Montreal QC. on 4/28 29, you might want to check it out.
Ronchez6996ParticipantHi Dennis,
You are telling us that he spent $2,000.00 in advertising and had two shows cancelled and one show that brought in 4-6 people? If that is correct, that is all the more reason why I”m willing to wait for Corporate to get us three other franchises. I’ve been told by two different marketing companies that radio ads for what I’m trying to do will be commuter ads (30 second), people listen in morning and night who have “dead end” jobs. I’m not sure if maybe his low attendance came from non-franchise and type of business he was trying to sell. That is another reason why I want to try 4 because it will make a much more diversified show. Also I have requested Corporate to make and put templates on the B.B. like they have for city owner advertising, so we can grab 1, change the phone number and should make real simple for newspaper or other type ads. I’m told they have it in the works with the graphic man now, and should be ready shortly.
Ronchez6996ParticipantSteve,
I knew you were at our table, but if I remember correctly you were sleeping during your brother’s award. I’m only kidding you but your brother put me up to this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ronchez6996ParticipantHi Steve
Nice to hear from you, I agree with your FAE statements, I rode for a day with all my people last Fall and two of them do exactly what you said. (21/2 gallon power sprayer seperate mix). The carpets on both jobs were heavily soiled and they came out real clean!!!!!!!!!! Also did you know your brother Jim received Operator of Year for Florida?
Ronchez6996ParticipantGrant,
I think you and Jeremy are on to a great idea! When I was riding with one of my operators last fall, we were cleaning the carpets in a house that had 5 pieces of leather furniture. My operator looked at me and said: “wow” I’d like to get that leather cleaning job some day!!!!! ( no one home, will mail check). I looked at him and said: If they don’t know you clean leather, you will never get the job. It’s no where to be found that he cleans leather, Not on van, not on invoice, etc. etc. We both said at same time: we need to have sheet made up, of what services we offer and as important as invoice, leave with EVERY customer. You should get great return from that piece of paper.
Ronchez6996ParticipantGordon,
You make me feel like I’m back in the IRS office facing some junior accountant trying to make a name for himself, asking me all those questions I can’t answer!!!!!! I have no idea what they cost me or the return, That was 10-15 years ago, I have a hard time remembering what I did a week ago. What I can say is that I’m willing to pay up to $6,000.00 for a GOOD operator. I got some at shows that were good, some bad, that have since left, but they have told other people that have bought areas in other states. How do you figure that in, the way you are trying to do it? My best estimates for the shows in Florida will run $8,000.00 to $10,000.00 per show, That’s to do everything “top notch” even supply some sort of meal. That would be a great number divided by 4 or even 2 or 3. As I’ve said before, I worry about anything less than four, because our draw will be so much better with 4 franchises. Which advertising catches your eye the best? Four of the Top 50 Franchises coming to your area next week!!!!! Top Carpet Cleaning Franchise coming to your area next week!!!!! At the above estimate, we could have a “bust” at one show and still within budjet to do another show. I’ve sold two at one show!!!!!
Ronchez6996ParticipantBryan,
I spent several thousands dollars doing shows with other people, that’s why corporate is working on getting three others to share the cost. I think to get in the amount of people we need, it will be very expensive to go on your own. I’ve thought about it, but I think ads that have 3 or 4 choices will bring much more and better people to the show. Maybe if you do one, and sell 2 or 3 we can all charge forward on our own!!!!!
Ronchez6996ParticipantI’m in the process right now of having an audio/video web site built for all my operators in Florida They wil all be linked to this site. Maybe, (just a thought) you could build one for the whole state that you are in and share the cost. Will let you know when it is finished and supply you with web address for viewing.
Ronchez6996ParticipantI forgot, I will have a small DVD player on the table, playing our Dvd. That will give people a look at our equipment and process.
Ronchez6996ParticipantNew logo’s and shirts, you bet!! Brochures, AARP magizine, Franchise 50 copies, yes. Trifold hand outs, for sure!!! Vans and equip. NO. I used the same type of erector set that Jeremy had at the seminar, only my graphics were terrible. I have ordered new graphics for this board from corporate, and the stand-up banner. (Lights are a must). You will not have room for equipment or vans inside. I visulize 3,4,or5 other business in the same meeting room with myself, (corporate is working on this as I”m writing). That’s why Cody asked, Who is on board for shows so he can tell other businesses what states or countries we want to do shows in. I’m in the process of figuring how big a meeting room I will need, What pop. area I want to be in, Working on some 30-second commuter radio ads letting people know where and when I will be there, along with other business owners. I really would like a Hotel that is on the main drag with a marquee board, so they can have our names up there. “Four of the top 50 Franchises in the nation coming to Orlando, April 9th and 10th”. (Just example, don’t call for tickets). Corporate has now posted everyone’s phone and e-mail address, anyone that has a real interest in this, give me a call and we can “brainstorm”. All of the past road shows I have done were set up by someone else, gets pretty expensive and strong, strong competition.( Sometimes as many as 100 or more Franchises in same show). We are by far better prepared to sell franchises today, then ever before!
Ron
P.S. I will have my wife, and 1 of my top operators there, Will pay operator flat weekend fee and probably $1,000.00 for a sale.chez6996ParticipantAfter the Daytona 500, They need more than a tank of gas. Chem-Dry would have looked good on the hood of that #20 car!!!!!!!!!!!!
chez6996ParticipantYou shop at Home Depot and Sears!!!!!
I’ll let them earn my money at Lowe’s and J.C. Penney!!!!chez6996ParticipantI sure have!!!!!!!!! The one problem my partner and I have (I own 50% of G&S Construction Corp.) is Home Depot is less than 2-miles from our shop, Lowe’s is 20+ miles away, but it “erks” me no end when I’m in that store in the tile and carpet section and see there ads and flyers all over the store!!!!!! Not sure what to do!!! Maybe with a little luck and more Franchise sales, we can make Home Depot Rethink the purchase of Chem-Dry by X CEO Nardelli !!!!!!
