I heat up the carpet before I die it. I just use the iron and a terry towel to heat it. Just like a red stain, without the red remover. This will help open the pores and set the die. I also add a little acid set to my die mixture. As far as the color wheel it can be confusing. Just remember that you are replacing the missing color. Violet is what we use the most. To make a brown (tan)you would have to mix red yellow and blue. When I have a bleach spot on tan carpet it has a slight yellow tint to it. I need to add red and blue to get it back to tan. When you mix them together it makes purple. (violet) The best way to understand it is to just keep practicing.

Empty and clean every day. Orange deodorizer works well, but if it is bad fill with bleach and water and let it sit over night and then rinse out.

After posting I looked up carpet cleaning Valrico FL and you came up 2nd. The only problem was you were sandwiched in between what looks like a couple of bait and switch guys advertising a full house for $39. I would change your add to look a little different and stand out from these low ballers. Something that is a little more eye catching can make a big difference. Also we found that local carpet cleaning has done real well for us. You should always have the url land on your page like you are doing now, but the displayed url can be just http://www.HeavensBest.com It will still go where you want it, but it looks cleaner and the capital HB stand out. Just a suggestion and good luck. Hear are a few examples of what is working for me.

It depends on your market. I have mine set for a max cpc of $5.00. I show up in the top 4 on most searches and depending on the time of day and clicks that I have had. If you are showing up 1st then I would lower it down so that you are in the top 4-5. I have seen some areas where they only pay $2 for top bidding. It is something that you have to play around with and change. I suggest looking at it over a weeks worth of time and adjusting so that way you get a better picture of where you are landing. I also pay out $600-700 a month for my campaign.

I am not sure about eating the peanuts and how good they taste, but we recycle ours. We do lot of shipping and reuse all peanuts that we get. I end up buying the anti static peanuts and get them from uline for $25 for a 20 cu ft bag. They are made from 100% recycled material. The peanuts that come from corporate get thrown in the mix and get recycled back to other shipping departments. A simple little change like this could cost us a lot more in the end. Last thing we want is the box to get wet and melt. Not to mention the extra cost for going green. My suggestion is ship me the peanuts and I will reuse them. Just kidding, but if you bag them up and when you have a large bag ship them back to Cody I am sure he would love to reuse them. If it comes down to the cost of going green, but you still want to do your part find a local company that does shipping and offer to drop them off.

We use the heavens best invoice book. If you do any commercial jobs I recommend the triplicate book. This way you have 1 for the office 1 for the book and 1 to mail. I end up doing a lot of estimates on apartments. We now leave 1 in apt taped to thermostat 1 in office and 1 in our book. This has saved lots of time and frustration of having to go back and find an estimate. I have never had a problem with the invoice book. I have looked into having custom made books, and it was not worth the money and time. I know that when I need more books they will be on the door step in a few days. We go through 70-80 books a year and It makes it easy to order them on the hb store.

I can’t tell my employees enough to document everything. If they need to write on the back then do it. We usually don’t have a problem in a regular residential job, but on an empty house or apartment it is crucial. Because I am not on every job I have to count on there documentation to back up our work. If I get a call back I always pull the invoice. This has saved us many times when there were permanent stains or problems. I have not read the article yet, but I am usually the last one to get the magazine. I can’t figure out why it comes so late to me. I did the photo shoot last year for ICS and we have been in almost every issue. Sometimes it is just my shoes, but sometimes we get lucky and they keep our logo in the picture.

The ad just came out. My dad showed it to me after he went to Costco. They handed it to him when they checked him out at the door. The ad looks really good. The only problem was there are 4 carpet and floor ads in the book. One of them really stands out and looks very good and they have a 20% coupon. We offered a 10% off coupon. Next time I would show a different promo like free fabric protectant or something to capture more attention. Still for the price I paid it is great to see us in the market place.

When I googled carpet cleaning today like I do everyday to watch our rankings I was very happy to see us at 3rd. This is a great location and it is seen from the first part of the page. I tested it on two different computers and both showed the same thing. We are just above the local map section and it stands out. Great job to Greg and Michael and all the other guys working on this. Our online request business is up and I have you to thank. Keep up the good work.

Someone could have used the bottle for something else. It happens at our house all the time. Sounds like someone tried to make salad dressing with one of our chemicals the other day. There could be an infinite possibilities to look at. I have found an old bottle of spotter that was 9 years old and it was still clear. It just lost the orange scent from age. One thing that could have happened is that you filled it from your sprayer on the job. If so did you have a cherry almond deodorizer mixed or something else mixed with it. Even then it would be to hard to figure out. My guess is the husband used the bottle for something and did not fess up to it. That is what I would do and then blame the cleaner or the kids.

I use a worm drive hose clamp. I cut off the extra, and it needs to be formed into the right shape. Man do I hate the factory ones they put on. They seem to go out at the worst time for me. I now just take them off and change them from the beginning.

Kurt you are correct in the new equipment out there does dry a lot faster. They are still using massive amounts of moisture, but they are able to extract much better. It comes to philosophy for cleaning. I my self think less is best. I do not throw my entire arsenal on every job. There are times that a HWE would be best, and then there are times that we are by far more superior. It really comes down to the man behind the equipment. What we do is so unique that we have seasoned veterans in the industries that you mentioned like IICRC and so on scratching there heads. If you look there are tons of companies that use a bonnet system for cleaning. The motions that we go through are not as unique as some might think. What sets us apart is the training, chemicals, and the operators themselves. I have employees that have been with me for years that still don’t clean like I do. It is not a lack of training or self discipline. Most of the operators in the heavens best family are family run and operated. This makes a big difference in the quality of our work and our reputation. As far as why the unbiased entities that you mentioned are not in our favor there is a huge misunderstanding in the business. Most of the guys that make up these boards are very biased. They do have a financial stake in the carpet cleaning industry. It is like Washington and the lobbyist involved. There are trips and perks given to these guys, and most run a business that is financially tied to the carpet industry. Franchises like ours are often looked down upon for the financial reasons alone. How are they going to make money off HB. We don’t buy from them in any way. Most of them have seen our method used for the last twenty five years and they were not impressed. I don’t blame them I would not either from what I have seen out there it can be pretty bad. Unfortunately we have been grouped in to a category in their eyes that we really don’t fit in. We are our own catagory and I am proud of it. Sometimes it just takes some extra work eductaing our clients.

I am sorry that it took so long for me to get around to this.. I did let the operators know, but with no response. Instead of hounding them I went through the contracts and did it for them. It took me 10 minutes and I am happy to say that Arizona and myself is done. The sooner we get this done the better the website can be. Most of the operators are easy. My own area took alot longer due to the fact that we have over 50 zip codes.

The local printing company that is putting the book together said that it even included graphic design. All I have to do is send him some graphics and they will do the rest. It keeps getting better by the minute. We both talked about the ridicules low price. He told me that Costco does not make a dime of money off this and it actually cost them some. They benefit from giving something back to their members and bringing in the local community. As stated before this is supposed to be a nation wide thing.
