What is the status on the Hoover Vacuums? I have been having problems with my belts slipping continuously. I change them weekly, but one bump in the carpet and I have to put it back on.

We were having the same problem with both of our vacuums to the extent that we sometimes didn’t even put the screws back on to hold the hood down. We bought new parts for the tension arm and that seemed to help. Another option is to have a good vacuum repair person check the motor to make sure it is mounted properly. The guy we use said that sometimes they will even come this way from the factory and it just requires them being shimmed to get everything lined up the way it should be. Just 2 things to try that worked for us.

Thank you Dave. I took to one repair facility, but the vacuum beater bar didn’t turn and was never cleaned by them not sure they did anything but change the belt. I have another company I will try and see what they say.
I get my vacumn belts from a local store in town. One hoover belt lasts me one month approximate 150 jobs; However after every job on average we always have the beater bar cleaned up and heavy object remover is emptied if needed. It pays dividends to always do simple maintenance daily with the beater bar getting cleaned and bolts tightend on buffers etc otherwise yes hoover, buffers, etc become much more of a liability and repair costs go up for the Fort Collins crew.
