How difficult is it to replace the power cord on the conquest? Consider that I am moderately handy at such tasks.

It’s not too bad, but allow yourself an hour. I have a suggestion . . . usually the cord goes bad from the handle out toward the plug. We have cut the cord up around the handle. Then wired a good male end on that. On the new cord, we placed the female end. It takes about 15 minutes and you have the new cord. The added bonus is you have an extension when you need it as well. I did the same thing with my Nobles buffer. It works great and makes replacement a breeze.
