I’ve always thought the best thing about owning a laundry mat is all that change. Same as an arcade. All cash business’s are the best!
July 6, 2009 at 2:27 am #151685AnonymousInactiveThe 3 laundromats I have visited most over the years are owned by 2 separate people. Have talked numerous times to both owners and combined I’m betting they own at least 10 laundromats and one told me she would give me a finders fee if I found some for sale in my travels about town. Both have very nice vehicles too. You all may be on to something…..
July 6, 2009 at 5:50 pm #151686AnonymousInactivewouldn’t it be nice to walk in with $40,000 of rolled quarters to pay for a new car.
July 6, 2009 at 8:38 pm #151687pachecoParticipantYou mean pull or push into the dealer don’t you?
July 6, 2009 at 11:42 pm #151688Larry youngParticipantI made an offer on one just before I bought into heavens best but the guy thought hed hold out for more money then the repo man (the old owners) came and took it over. but if you look into the cash flow it can be a very luiricative bussiness and it does go hand in hand with what we are already doing.
July 10, 2009 at 2:10 pm #151689AnonymousInactiveI clean for a High School and at the end of the day, they wash our pads for us in their large industrial machine. It will hold 30 – 40 pads and uses a liquid detergent from ECOLAB. I was very impressed with the job this machine and detergent did. I am planning to purchase an industrial machine. Does anyone have, or know of a good brand?

Just because it is Friday…

December 15, 2009 at 5:28 pm #151694shubamsjiMemberwe havent had it for long yet, but when i got tired of dirty streaks caused by our old top load we sprang for a meile. its a german company, and is supposed to be by all accounts just one notch from a commercial washer. so far it seems to be doing great, had it for about 6 months now. i’ll try to post again in a couple of years when its had a longer track record.
December 10, 2010 at 2:02 pm #151696AnonymousInactiveJust curious as to how you like the “Meile” washing machine. I am in the market for a 2 new machines so I wanted to renew “The Great Washer Debate”
December 10, 2010 at 8:51 pm #151697AnonymousInactiveBrian The Whirlpool Duet I have works well and I can’t complain but I think next time I will get something a bit heavier duty. I’m always concerned the pads will get stuck between the door glas and the rubber seal, which has happened once before. It was under warrantee at the time and was fixed under that but the cost was around $225 if my failing memory serves me correct.
December 10, 2010 at 10:06 pm #151698pachecoParticipantBrian, We bought a Kenmore front loader, HE4T and we usually put in 7-9 pads/load. I use 1/3 cup phosphate (TSPP) (EBay, Arkie Annie) I believe and 1/4 – 1/3 cup bleach (BJ’s)
We have had our machine now for about 5 1/2 years, and it has an issue with staples or much of anything hard going thru the discharge pump. Been replaced 4-5 times and just a few months ago the motor bearings went and virtually the entire machine had to be rebuilt….believe it or not, about 3 months earlier we had bought an extended warranty for a year at $120…or thereabouts…. I think that too many do not take advantage of those pesky little up charges for warranties. In this case I am very glad we did…and again and again.
It does a great job on whitest whites, 1 hr25 min and done.
Would I recommend the Kenmore…..? If you have the extended warranty they fix them very well….(I do pull the filter every few weeks and remove debris as well as check pads before placing in washer)..may have upgraded the discharge pump by now. If they did, I would recommend you go see.
Hope this helps with another log on the fire.
Merry Christmas
DaveJanuary 4, 2011 at 2:25 am #151679shubamsjiMemberOur Meile seems to be working great. It seems to wash 7-10 pads well. it has a heavy soil and extended wash option which allow you to use more soap in a second cycle, so when the pads are supper dirty i will us those to extend the wash time and get a little extra dirt out. It is extremly heavy so don’t plan on moving it often, and it has a small crack on some surface trim (no idea how that happened) but overall it has been a dream
