Just an FYI for those that haven’t ever tried cleaning up after ferrets (urine and feces, or just the animal odor itself)……plan on burning the carpet and everything else in the room if you want to eliminate the smell. We’ve cleaned for a few customers that have had rooms that ferrets ran free in (see urine/feces), and the smell does not come out no matter what you try. Obviously, the degree of contamination varies from situation to situation, but every instance we’ve had has been no win. In the heirarchy of bad animal smells, I would put ferrets a solid #1 (even if they’ve been de-glanded), with cat pee #2 and dogs a very distant 3rd. Mr. Nowlin can tell you where elk fall in that list.
