My stair buffer will not hold the pad and the pad frays really bad from the drive plate. I always clean the lint out of the drive plate. Does anyone else have this problem? Do I need a new drive plate ?
    Thanks,
    Mike

The drive plates do wear out after time. My quess is you need a new one. I replace mine 2 or 3 times per year.

Look and see if you have any “teeth” left on plate, or if it’s just “cones”. Mine had the same issues recently and when I looked I no longer had teeth. Ordered new one and problem solved.
