I am at my mom’s for the holidays and her small spotter bottle has black stuff floating in it that looks like mold. Anyone seen this before? It is about 4 years old and about 3/4 full. Bottle has been sitting in closet in laundry room off of garage on main floor. I don’t know if she accidently mixed something else in there to cause that but she said she didn’t. Strange. The other two bottles (1 large bottle, 1 small) are fine.

I have never experienced mold like substance in any of are spotters. I have seen some dark almost black spots in the spotter bottle that had sat for along time. In investigating further, I learned it was the additional drop of deoderizer I had added to the spotter bottle that had seperated. (In this case just mix aggressively and your done.) At no other time have I experienced anything unuasual.

John Steiner indicated it may be residue that remained in the large shipping container that the company recieves the product in. I sent Cody a sample quite some time ago but did not hear back. I wasn’t that concerned to follow up on it.

As far as the spotter bottles, I am not sure. I do know that water that sits long enough in anything can get just about any bacteria in it. A perfect example is protozoa. Sounds funny but my sons discovery science kit helped us grow some. We had to use dry grass and leaves though. I know I’m stretching a little here. I really don’t know on this one, concerning the spotter. It could be mold, or could be a couple dirt particles that got in once poured into bottle, or air blown, who knows. Hope you get the answer bro.

Almost like black clouds, we took a picture and sent to Cody.
