In my 4 years of business it seems to be that 98% homes that have hardwoods have a polyurathane finish. My question is do we “Heaven’s Best” have an official system to clean and polish poly floors? Does anyone offer this service?
Yeah, I just went through training, and correct me if I’m wrong, but they said to not use our system on polyurethane? But like you say it seems like all hard wood has polyurethane so I don’t understand what we can actually do…
I would like to ask the question to corporate…Why not also offer a cleaner designed to clean poly floors. It seems like this would be the perfect add on with our system being that most floors are poly.
Would this be a possibility? Any concerns?Why do we not have answers to this question yet?? Poly floors are everywhere, is it that hard to find a cleaner and a system to clean them?? we are leaving thousands of dollars on the table every single day. Is this something corporate is working on ?? I know almost every new home and most of the homes in the last 10 years in my areas have poly floors in them.

When we first introduced training on the wood floor cleaning, we were only cleaning real wood floors which would let the wax soak into the wood surface. However, we are now cleaning all types of wood flooring. Real wood floors are cleaned by first removing all loose soil by means of a broom or vacuum system. If the floor is badly soiled with dirt and grime, we will wet down a thin cloth buffing pad with our 101 cleaning solution at a 20 to 1 dilution ratio, or our hard surface cleaner and buff the entire floor to remove the soil. We then apply the paste wax to the steel wool pad, and buff the entire floor. We give the wax about 5-15 minutes to soak into the wood surface. The next step is to buff the floor with the white fiber pad, which is also known as a polishing pad. The final step is to buff the floor with a white thin cloth pad.We use the same process on all wood floors, however, some wood floors do not require the use of the paste wax and steel wool pad. The non cloth fiber pads are color coded. In the past we have only used a white polishing pad, but we are now starting to include one red fiber pad with the wood floor package. The red pads will be available September 1, 2007. The red fiber pad is a little more aggressive and will remove more of the scratches that have dulled the finish of the real and artificial wood floors. The red or white pad can be used on the poly finishes.

one more question though. If we use the white or red pad on poly floors to remove scratches what do we put on the floor to make it shine again?? or does the pad itself polish the floor?

The white polishing pad will work great. You can use the steel wool pad and a small amount of paste wax if necessary.
