What does any/everyone think is the biggest differences between the turf pad and the regular green pad? Which is the preference? ❓
I only use the green strip pad on very dirty traffic areas under my dirt napper. The woven pad seem to “wipe” more soil from the carpet fibers or actually faster.
If you will notice on the woven pad that the green part is a loop. The loop will give more resistance thus pulling more soil. The green part on the green pad is just free flowing. It will brush across the carpet fibers and not pull as much soil.
We find the “hybrids” saturate quicker and don’t last as long, but do pull a lot of soil. We use a ratio of about 2-1 or 3-1 of regular to hybrid pads. Some times we’ll lightly respray and run a hybrid over the area a second or third side.
We usually use more green pads than hybrids on a day to day basis. Always use the hybrids on berber though. No comparison in the results. Seems that the hybrids work better on shorter length piles (berbers) and the regular turf work better on longer piles (shags, friezes, saxony plush). I think you need the longer green bristles to get deep down in the longer fibered carpet, but agree that the hybrids agitate a little more. For this reason, we always follow with the thin “traffic” pads no matter what pad we start with, and then possibly towel after that depending on the situation.
I use the regular turf pad for the first pass on the carpet, it removes some soil and loosens it for the woven pads to remove the remaining soil in the subsequent passes. The woven turf is more absorbent and agressive than the regular turf pad and it does wear faster but you can’t beat it for removing soil and reduces the number of passes I have to make to get the carpet clean. I use it on all carpet types. The thin pads are great also, fairly agressive and absorbent.
When a new dirt-napper is ordered, a white pad comes with. I really like this pad under my napper, seems to pick up more soil than reg. green. Can we order additional of this type?
I aqiured an additional set of equipment through purchasing an area from another operator. The wooven turf pads I received seemed to be made of a stiffer material, not allowing the pads to bend easy. After using these pads for a few months, I noticed they seemed to start bunching up on the inside. They also rattled like a bean bag when I shook them. Today, I split one open and poured a few handfulls of crumbled rubber out of the inside. I think they originally had a flat rubber disc on the inside. The pads are far from being worn out, but seem useless when they bunch up and wobble the buffer around. Has anyone else ran into this problem ?
I had the same thing happen with a case of pads and when I washed them they all turned grey. I called Adam and he said that it was a bad batch so you might want to get ahold of adam on those bsutton and get them replaced.
