Some of you veteran operators ring in on what you do with your old pads and new pads. Like us, we use new for residential and the old for nasty restaurants and hotels, etc..

Pretty much the same here. Pads do get to a point where they are completely ineffective at which point we throw them away.

I found they work well for absorbing those nasty little oil leaks under the vehicles. they also are a souce of great entertainment for my wife’s cats who lay on and wrestle with them. The problem is they move all over the house when the cats play with them. Also the rule is no cat pee in the carpet, if so the offender is banished to the pound.

Just make sure to replace pads every so often. New pads absorb a lot more than old ones. I replace my pads every 4-5 months. Huge differnce.

I found out that the local pound will take the old buffer pads to put them in the cage with the dogs or cats. They also play fresbe (catch and return) with the dogs to give them their xtra-size (because I do little of it I like to joke about it). In exchange they advertise HB in their newletter. They want to give me a tax credit voucher but I’ve already written them off (the pads). Good subject guys
