If your handy with wood, a jig saw and screws, use 3/4″ partical board to construct what you want.

If the local sign shop is trying to use plywood, a jig saw and #10 screws on your van, I’d recommend that you try another vendor. These decals are vinyl and they stick on the van with much frustration, cursing and swearing.
Dirtbag, I’m not sure how my post ended up here. It was a response to someone asking about building shelves on the inside of their van.
