In the Eastern Oregon, South eastern Washington, and western Idaho areas, (that I know of) has proven to be a real snow drift year. I’ve seen drifts over 8 feet high and It’s only the 9th of January. I remember going to a vacancy in three, 3′ high drifts. Taking in with me was my measuring device and my Inv-Bid-sheet book, I wanted to make sure I had the correct house, the key worked, and there was electricity before thinking about bringing in the equipment.
Well, there was electricity, so I measured and wrote up the invoice and noticed a TV tray.(Old folks use to eat food in front of the TV while sitting in their favorite chair. Google it) So, I used that TV tray to clear a path to reduce the danger and discomfort of bringing in supplies and the equipment. The job went a lot smoother because I cleared the path. When I finished the job, I put the TV tray back after using (took out a few small dents) and on the way back bought a Square Shovel. I used it in about ten more jobs that year. It really came in handy for three of those jobs I would have turned down without it.
Square shovel! You never know… It might even come in handy to dig yourself out of a … snow bank!
