I have been in this business since 2001. My market in total is less than 100,000 people so this point may not be pertinent to everyone. Through my years I have witnessed up to more than 10 new cleaners come into my area. They many times come in and advertise a lot and drastically undercut our prices. While I notice a ‘nick’ in business during that initial phase, these new operators are no where to be found in a year or so. I think they come in and work like crazy, and in the end start adding up the profits and decide to go back to work for someone else. The lesson I learn over and over is: Don’t get nervous. Know who you are. If this was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Ditto. I second that because I totally agree.
Set your goals and chart your course on how you are going to accomplish that and don’t be swayed. Honesty, hard work, and consistency are not only appreciated, it’s sought after. No matter how many times I read the book to my grandson’s, the tortoise always beats the hare.

Bryan, thanks for your and Vicki’s example and just flat out who you are and what you have become. Awesome!

What? Not everyone is doing this???
