The other day I had a customer tell me I ruined their carpet, a discoloration occured while I sprayed 101 on a sofa (RED) the customer asked what I had done to the carpet, I said nothing…. yet.. as I was cleaning the sofa. Clearly something had spilled prior to my cleaning…any way long story short, I was told by my insurance company that carpet is not covered due to an exclusion M in the policy. The customer was not happy when I informed her and we went around and around, I told her the solution could not result in a discoloration with out prior spills or cleaning products that they may have used. She was adamant that THEY did nothing, I said , then why did no other rooms have this issue, I cleaned the whole house and if dicoloration was going to happen because of my solutions why not on your RED sofa ? She had no coment…I told her the best thing I can do is refund the carpet cleaning portion of the bill and she agreed…Contrary to popular belief THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALLWAYS RIGHT! Sad that I lost a customer I had been cleaning for for years but I would rather lose a customer like that than keep them. You may want to check your coverage, I found it to be an eye opener…..but if you think about it why would they cover carpet..they would be buying carpet every day !

Did the red in the sofa bleed? Was the carpet simply darkened due to the excessive moisture from the overspray?. I would schedule an apointment to reinspect now that the carpet is dry. Please keep in mind that a large percentage of men have color blindness, making it hard or impossible to see a red tint.

I have deleted this customer from my list. I am convinced it was a pre existing issue. No big deal to me, she was just wanting new carpet and was trying to go the insurance route.

Is that a real medical fact or just a guess on your part?, I have never heard that before?.

My brother-in-law is an optomitrist and comfirmed my statement as a fact. The percentage is not none but far more common in men vs. women.
