Thank you so much Greg!
VA31ParticipantI dugg the link!
VA31Participantddevlin and Loren,
Hey thanks for letting us know how we can make the website easier for you. I just finished adding all the pictures that we have yesterday. John is going to take pictures of the products that are missing pictures. I think for the large items, we will first do what you suggested and just list the product numbers that are included in the package. Then I will try to convince Adam to take a picture of the packages. As for the question marks, I like question marks. I think they work really well on getting tough spots out. ha
I really do appreciate your input, though.
VA31ParticipantI know that we tried doing the zip codes in the past and it didn’t work. The reason was the way that everyone’s information was being stored. On the new database, we organized the information in a way that will allow us to create a good zip code locator. I don’t know if everyone already submitted their zip codes or not, but we don’t have the zip codes anymore. I really want to get this to work and I know we can. Once we implement it, the customer will not have to jump through as many hoops to find an operator.
The way it will work is, the user will enter a zip code. If there is an exact zip code match with one or several operators, then it will show those operators. (As of right now if the user selects a city that has multiple operators, then it shows all the operators) I think that most operators that share cities my operate in seperate zip codes. But if there is not an exact match with the users zip code, then they will see a list of operators within a certain mile radius, hopefully I can get it to list them in order of how close they operate to the user’s zip code.
If this doesn’t make sense, let me know.
If you have cities that have more than one zip code, please email the city names and all the zip codes, because I will need to enter them.
Justin told me that it didn’t work last time because of how the old system was set up and we fixed that with the new system.
VA31ParticipantWow, thanks for letting us know. I got it fixed. If something major like that happens again, please give us a call.
Thanks again.VA31ParticipantThis will be my first post since I just joined Heaven’s Best as their Graphic Designer, but I have some experience with advertising. I do not know the target market of Heaven’s Best that well.
As an earlier post said, do not do the sports section, this target males. The living section targets women and the main section targets mostly everyone.
The ideas in the June 2007 newsletter are great, although I think a number in the yellowpages would be good so people don’t have to go looking in the newspaper for your ad.
As for the placement of the ad, most advertisers prefer the right hand side when going into Magazines because people look at the right side pages more than the left, but in newspapers it doesn’t matter. The front page, page 1, page 2, and the back of each section are best because people see those first and may not open the newspaper to read more. Also when they put the paper down they sometimes place it with the back facing up, so they will see your ad. I know this seems weird, but think about how many times you have put a magazine down an a table, face-down and saw the ad on the back.
As for the days, Sunday may be expensive, but more people see the ad and since I know what the ads we have look like, I think they will stand out more than some of the other ads. But the newletters article does talk about a good point that a lot of people are ready to spend their paycheck on friday.
Either way you do it, keep track of what you have done, ask people where they heard about you, and stick with what works.
Hopefully in future newsletters I will start to explain more about advertising.
Good Luck.
