I agree with you Laura. We do two shows a year here and they both are very successfull. It’s a great way to promote the company name as well as pick up new customers. We have people sign up on a mailing list so we can direct mail them coupons throughout the year. We do have a nice display with lights. I think that really helps draw in people also.
tx45ParticipantMerry Christmas everybody.
tx45ParticipantUse and electric heater set on a low setting. You’re only trying to keep it above freezing. Also make sure you turn the vent to off. In most vehicles it actually closes the vents and keeps the heat in better.
tx45ParticipantI gotta vent because I’m fighting to hold onto an apartment complex and I’m not quite sure why?
First off do not take this the wrong way. I’m all for apartment work, however, they are very competitive in my area and the pay is sometimes not worth the effort. I have been cleaning apartments since the beginning of my franchise(10yrs.) and today I am not cleaning any of the same units I started out in. There will always be a cleaner out there who will undercut your price and a lot of times that’s all managers and their superiors care about-even in the high end apartment communities. For my first few years I was 60% commercial and 40% residential. Now I’m about 30% commercial and 70% residential. I have turned my focus towards residential because it is far more profitable and I can set appointments around my schedule. Again, I’m not saying don’t go after apartments, they’re great filler. Just don’t put too much effort into getting new properties because, no matter how good of a relationship you build with them or the excellent job you do or the great price you give them, to most of them it’s all about the bottom line. I speak from experience. Let the suck and go guys fight over apartments and cut each others wallets. Focus most of your energy on residential and you will be far more successful.
I just realized I’m not going to fight for that complex.
tx45ParticipantDitto!
tx45Participant“Experience excellence from a company you can trust.”
“Enjoy life, we’ll clean it up.”I don’t like to use the words “cost” or “price”. I think it creates a predetermined mindset of “they must be expensive”. Just my two cents.
tx45ParticipantSo I may be a little out of the loop here but are you guys doing an emersion/solvent type of cleaning to these rugs? Are you using the normal HB process? This sounds like a good deal. I want some of that action.
tx45ParticipantMike there are many different types of power stretchers. It sounds like you saw one version of one. Go online and type in “carpet power stretchers” as a search.
tx45ParticipantI should be good for any of those days as long as I have enough notice as to which one so I can schedule it.
tx45ParticipantBummer. I really liked Jason. He always did a great job for me.
tx45ParticipantB.F. which ads have you been using, TV or Radio? How often are you airing them and at what times?
I agree Ron it would be nice if state owners where made aware of new items, products, price changes, etc. before they come out.tx45ParticipantI’ll call them tomorrow. Sorry I’ve been off the board for a couple of days-busy running my local franchise. No excuses. I’m on it.
tx45ParticipantI agree with you Gordon. I think we should have levels. I do think the test to become a “Master Cleaning Technician” should be somewhat difficult. That certification should be special and not just given away. I would say posting names of ops who achieve the master cert. should be mentioned in the newsletters along with receiving patches a plaque and maybe even decals for the van.
I would also like to see about making these test available to employees, so they too can work toward the certification.tx45ParticipantThanks for the reply Cody. Dennis. Call me. I’m in.
tx45ParticipantLaura,
I asked all of my ops who were paying through corporate ACH to go to their banks and set up an “auto pay”. A lot of banks, when you mention ACH, seem to go blank in the face. I’ve found that most understand auto pay. All your ops have to do is go into their banks or even online and set it up so a check will be printed and mailed to you on the same date every month. The only down falls are the op has the ability to cancel it at any time and there is also a small fee the op will have to pay for this service. So far, the ops I have using it seem to like it because they don’t have to worry about writing out the check an mailing it to me. It’s all done for them. -
