tx45Participant
Until ALL state owners are reading and posting on the bulletin board I think we should continue to have these phone meetings once a month. I also think we should consider 2 hours. This would allow for more discussion on the topics.
tx45ParticipantAs I mentioned in the phone conference I think a softer approach would be to have the Thank You cards re-vamped to metion franchises are available.

tx45ParticipantOprah!? Really, Oprah? C’mon now DB don’t throw your secret little pleasure on me.
Seriously though, I agree with Dennis. This could generate business for operators and also potential franchise sales. Put “Franchises Available” at the bottom of the ad somewhere. I would be curious to know what a full or half page ad would cost, for a six month run, in a major women’s magazine?tx45ParticipantThanks Tim.
tx45ParticipantI really like Jim’s idea of receiving an email when one of our operators posts something on the board. Is that something that is possible?
tx45ParticipantI’m with Laura and Ron. I used to send a packet regardless, but now I try and make contact with the person via phone and email before I send anything. I maybe get one or two leads a month and for the most part they seem to be tire kickers and not serious, qualified leads.
tx45ParticipantHow’s the survey/test/educational quiz coming? Did you ever get the questions I sent you? Where you able to retrieve the ones I sent you on your phone that crashed?
tx45ParticipantI’m in too. Are we talking 6:00pm MST?
February 12, 2008 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Military Bases – Anyone clean for them? Steam ONLY!? #151431tx45ParticipantIt takes a lot of time to run a portable machine and the results won’t compare to a truck mount. The reason, you wont have the suction a truck mount will so you really have to go over the area multiple times to remove as much moisture as possible. If you don’t there will be wicking and re-soiling.
A good solution is to run your buffer over the carpets, after using the portable, while they’re still wet. It’s called a “dual process” cleaning. This will help clean a little more thoroughly and remove moisture, speeding up the drying time. I only use this process when I come across trashed carpets that would normally need HWE. I charge more for this process because it takes more time.tx45ParticipantI see your point DB. It could lead to opening up Pandora’s Box. It was only a question. Again, I believe in our process. It’s done well for me.
tx45ParticipantTo clarify, I’m not, in any way, suggesting that we switch our process like Chem Dry has. I was only posing the question: Should we allow the “option” for operators to use HWE along with our current process if they choose? I know corporate, in the past, was trying out a few different truck mounts with a few select operators. Again, it was only a question. I believe in our process. My head is clear. 😀
tx45ParticipantYes we are low moisture/Dry in 1 Hour. No HWE. Over the years that I’ve been in business I have lost many larger accounts because of the fact that they decided to go with HWE. This is a post I would like to see Cody reply to. Just a couple of questions to play devils advocate: should we be a little more diverse in our process in certain markets? Would there be potential to sell more product if we did allow HWE? Would operators be more successful if they had the ability to offer HWE? Again, just throwing it out there as food for thought and again I would like to hear From Cody on this topic.
tx45ParticipantDitto Brett.
tx45ParticipantI agree with you Dennis. It is best to try and clean the lobbies, banquet rooms, etc. I should clarify though, that a guest room takes about 10 minutes to clean and we require a minimum of 5-6 rooms per visit. $30×6=$180 an hour(maybe an hour and a half with time in between rooms). That makes it worth while.
