Just to clarify I said videos, I meant the testimonials.
tx45ParticipantI’m glad to see some of you taking advantage of the training you received. Carpet repair is not that difficult and there is a lot of money to be made in it. Also if you’re looking to expand into commercial work(apartments and rentals)it’s a must. If anyone has more questions or need help on a repair, feel free to call me direct at (888)-313-3533
tx45ParticipantI just clicked on the franchise section of the site and went to the testimonials. Sorry but I think the videos are cheesy. They are very low budget and outdated. For instance Bryan Ferris’ video. I liked what he had to say, however, he’s in an old uniform and the van behind him is the old logo package(nothing against you BF). If we’re going to have videos they should be with the new uniforms and logos as well as higher quality video/film.
In my opinion, obviously I have a lot of them 😀 , the web site is one of, if not the most important tool we have. Internet advertising is the future(more so than yellow pages) so it’s critical that our site look and perform better than our competitors-Chem Dry, Stanley, etc. I know I’m being hypercritical, but I feel this is an area where we need to be. Anyone else have any opinions on the web site?tx45ParticipantI like the audio on the home page, however, I think it should be a female voice. We’re trying to appeal to women more than men.
I also think the franchise sale portion of the audio should be removed. People remember the last thing they hear and because of that, I feel the audio comes off like we’re trying to sell franchises rather than provide a professional service. Our primary goal with the site should be to promote our services and increase operator success and second should be to promote franchise sales. There is a huge spot on the home page that is very obvious where franchise sales are being promoted. Even people who are not interested in buying or looking at our franchise are going to spot that easily.
Increasing our operators success will sell more franchises.tx45ParticipantI would like to talk about the TV commercial, and possibly the web site.
tx45ParticipantOkay, so I think running for a position, voting, terms, etc. complicates what is trying to be accomplished here. I think a subcommittee should carry out tasks that Cody/corporate don’t have time or maybe the resources for. Some examples: Doing the ground work on a particular idea or project, researching, finding reputable companies/the right fit, shopping for bids, coming up with a couple of different avenues/options to take for that project and then presenting the information to Cody/corporate for the final decision. I think this would be a far more simplistic and effective way to get more involved and help out on the corporate level.
tx45ParticipantI’m glad to see some changes starting to take place on the web site.
tx45ParticipantI think business cards is pretty petty. Just my opinion. Pick your battles. Outside products on the other hand-no, no, no. Unless it’s a product that HB doesn’t offer.
tx45ParticipantAmmon be very dull. Work lots, need play. Seriously, I need to think about this idea a bit before I post. I’ll get back to you all.
tx45ParticipantThere are a lot of variables to take into consideration. Size of jobs, degree of cleaning necessary, travel time to and from which could include traffic, construction, accidents, etc. Are you paying your employee hourly or percentage? An employee, typically, is not going to be as efficient or as profitable as you the owner will be. I pay my guy percentage and that way he works harder to make more money for himself and me. He doesn’t drag his feet against the clock. Also his drive time is now not work time, so his hours reported are less which means less taxes paid making him/me more profitable.
tx45ParticipantJust an update. Some of you read and replied to my post “product/revenue question”-this post goes in hand with that one. I was sceptical at first about using this program. It seemed like redundant work, however, I used this program today to research an op. that I was concerned about. It really was easy to use and I found the info I needed within a minute or two. I’m looking forward to using this program now to track down the slackers and strike at them with a fury ain’t nobody done did seen!!! Seriously though, it’s a great tool for us state owners.
tx45ParticipantThanks everyone. I was concerned about one of my ops. After a little more investigating, reading what you all have said, and speaking with Cody & Dan it looks like the my lucky numbers are going to be $1500-$2000 per gallon. Thanks again!
tx45ParticipantJust started playing with it tonight. I’m sure we’ll be calling soon.
tx45ParticipantCody,
Thanks for the update on the commercial. Are there any projected numbers on what the cost will be to purchase the commercial? I personaly think the commercial should be given to the operators. That will allow and encourage more operators to run it. It will give them a tool that can really make a difference in their business and show that corporates advertising programs are really going for it. Also that being said it should increase the amount of product sales along with helping recoupe the cost of development as well as. Maybe I’m putting the cart before the horse-just a thought.tx45ParticipantGreg,
I’m here! I try to read the board every couple of days. -
