We use yellowpages.com & have good success with it. But just like the phone book ad we have: position, content & how the ad looks on our web-site give us the best chance to sell the job. Thank you for all the posts on this topic, the information is great to have.

We had our annual seminar in orlando thursday 2/28 & My son & I came away pretty excited about dealing with wsi. We’re going to give them a chance to help us grow our buisness, the one thing Mitch (the sales rep.& part owner) stressed is you have to give it a fair chance to work for you, he said about 3 months. I’ll let you know how we make out once we get up & running.

Brian, Thanks for the info about getting the pads brighter with the oxy clean. When you use liquid bleach (I’m assuming you use clorox)to clean you pads do you find it decrease’s the life span of the pads?

    Matt,
One of the closing points I use is “we can save you money becauise with our state of the art process instead of cleaning 4x’s a year you would only have to clean 3x’s a year because our process does not leave any stickey residue” This pitch has not failed me yet & has allowed me to make more than I originaly expected on these commercial jobs. Your saving them money because your cleaning 1 less time & they don’t have to pay employees & everything that goes along with that like you mentioned in your post. Sounds like you know the value of the product your offering them & that will translate to them knowing as well.

Kurt, sell the fact that you don’t have to remove them fom there house unless they want you to. You might want to contact some of the operators that have immersion tanks & get their take. Good luck!

    Welcome aboard Kurt,
As far as area rugs go, you can make great money cleaning area rugs. The way I clean them is first vacuume, then spray our solution, make sure you get it just wet enough but not two wet. Keep checking your moisture as your cleaning it, some area rugs are more absorbent then others. I use the dirt knapper brush with the regular green pads followed by the turf pads & the customers are very satisfied with how they turn out. The only time I use the upholstery machine is for a pet odor or stain & of course any specialty stain (red, coffee etc.) or if it is a small area rug. When I use the upholstery machine I put a piece of plastic down on the flooring that the area rug is on, then some carpet runners with a rubber backing on top of the plastic (you can purchase the carpet runners at lowes or home depo, the cost is about $2.50 per sq. yd. they come on a roll so you can cut the exact length you want, they are 3′ wide & work great. As far as the fringe goes the best & fastest way to clean fringe is to spray portable extract on it & keep wiping it with a rag then flush the fringe out with the mini-mate. We charge 2.00 a sq. ft.not counting the disinfectent treatmet or the fabric protector. If the fringe is chewed up pretty good we don’t mess with it but if it is in good shape we get it lighter then what it was without spending to much time on it, then use the rake to comb it out. Hope this helps you.
