We use android platform phones. When we put an appointment in the phone it stays on my phone, uploads to your google calendar online that you can print if you want, and goes James phone. You set it up to sync with anyone you want.
testParticipantI’ll try to keep this short. We use both a smart phone and scheduler. In particular we use an android based phone. The reason is with an adroid phone when you schedule an appointment it automatically syncs that to a calendar on google. (When you activate your phone you have to create a google account). The only reason we use the paper book is for our comfort although it is not needed. Most android phone you can customize how you view your calendar. Day, Week, or month view. What I do i keep it on month. When I what I have on a certain day I have it set up so that it only shows things scheduled on that day instead of showing all time and having to scroll. Another thing I do when I schedule an appointment under description I put the city name. So i know what city I have started for that day. Then put the other stuff like job info and customer info in the description. In my opinion its the way to go. I hated carrying a book around every where I go in case someone calls. At least on the phone I always have that and it’s not in the way. Also I know on my phone and I believe most or all android phones you can set it up to get your email from any address on the phone. I have a Hero from sprint, my business partner has a Motorla Cliq from T-Mobile, and we are using a G-1 for buiness from T-Mobile. Also if you have a business partner or anyone else you want to see your schedule you can set that up as well. If I or my partner ad something to the schedule or in the business phone schedule it will sync all our phones as well as the online caledar if that is something you may need. I know Verizion has an android phone as well called droid. Hope this helps you out. Let us all know what you decide.
testParticipantOk thanks. Appreciate it.
testParticipantThanks I appreciate it. I am using the simpe start right now. I have learned I need to upgrade to pro. Thanks for the help.
testParticipantThank you for your inputs. Ron Justin from corp gave us some better template ideas from other operators compared to our old site. We liked your layout from the sites he showed us.
testParticipantWhen we started we used Service magic just to get some work and money coming in. Be careful though. They can be tricky to work with. We had an up and down relationship with them. Go to as many realtor offices you can, ask for the broker/owner and ask to do a 1 room demo for them. When they see your work they will always refer you. Do ALOT of foot work. Walk till your shoes fall off. Hit up apartment complexes and hotels. They will provide residual work. Also restraunts.
The key with restraunts however alot of people don’t do them because of the grease. I used to be the same way. However there is a nice little market if you can get the system to work. The key is using a degreaser in before our products and they must be cleaned every month or pay a higher price.
Get some cheap but nice looking door knockers made up and canvas neighborhoods. When you do a job put some flyers on at least 8 of the closest neighbors. Also have a referral program in place. We give our customers 3 plastic referral gift cards and ask them to put their name on the back. The person they refer receives $25.00 off there cleaning and for each person that hands the in the the original customer gets $25.00 of for anything in the future. If we get all 3 they get $75 off. If they refer more and enough they may get their job done free. That is the only thing that overrides our minimum charge.
Sorry for the long post. Hope this gives you some ideas. Also for commercial accounts we use a commercial sales packet that should be on the advertising site. Called Mike Nowlin sales packet. Just edit it to what you need. And Follow up, follow up, follow up. You may keep getting no’s but persistance is key. I just pick up a few apartments this week that I was damn sure would say no and finally my 100th time got my demo and 99% sure will be using us. Again I still have to follow up 1 last time to seal the deal.
Again sorry.
testParticipantHey Greg,
We give the referral $25.00 off their cleaning and send a $25.00 gift card to the referrer. The more the person refers the more they save. We leave 3 $25 referral goft cards to every customer to hand out. They put their name on the back and when we see it cam from them they get a similar one in the mail. The referral program is the only thing that overrides our minimum charge. So if they refer enough people they can basically get the next job done for free.
testParticipantLooks good. Just an opinion. On my website I scan customer evaluation cards and post them on there. In my opinion not any one can write on their website this carpet cleaner this and this carpet cleaner that. So when my customers ask if we do a good job or any thing like that I tell them to go my website and they can see it written from previous customers how they felt. If you wanna see what I did it’s under testimonials. http://www.heavensbestlv.com
Anyone have opinions on that idea?
testParticipantIf you get no help from the cops. Maybe you can some how put a contractor lien on the property. I’m not sure how it would be done though. Or you can wait till you have a bad day, your very frustrated, follow thoe wife home so you know where he lives. On your bad day wait for him to come outside and beat him to a pulp and take the few pennies he has in his pocket. Guarantee he’ll think twice before he rips some one off again. Ususally the system don’t do anything. They tell you to sue them and you get stuck with a piece of paper and you need to find a way to collect the money. Great system we have.
