Amazing to me…when I was in Basic Training in August 1968, in San Antonio, with many red flag days (over 100 degrees F), we had to wear GI issue. Long sleeve shirt and long pants…once in a blue moon, like PT we could wear a t-shirt.

    No one had shorts.

    Also…area(s) served.

In attractive lettering we have Serving Lancaster County

With multiple units in a state itcould get confusing.

Adam…I guess my comment was addressing the exhorbitant cost for removal as compared to our local cost for placement at $100, which takes much more time and should cost more to do..not 4 times less.

It just seems high priced and I would never have them remove the lettering…at those costs, as I would not have had them place the lettering for more than $100 either. I would suspect that Sign a Rama would charge much more than $100 to place the now, old logo package.

Just seems like a high price to me. I am sure that others in the country have higher and possibly more competitive pricing, but $1200 x 2 or $2400, is a lot of money and anyone who is not watching their dollars in this economy is not too tightly wrapped.

Gotta get to work to start putting $100 bills away for this….

    $400?????????

It only cost me $100 to have my sign person apply the first set 3 years ago and $150 (due to the mismatch and changes in lettering sinc, etc in the 3 years) to apply the second set a couple of months ago.

$400 is a tad bit on the high side for me.

ditto…have not worn a hat since 1972 when discharged..got into some trouble in SEA about not wearing it…had it folded in my back pocket. A SAC base I was at liked me to wear one as well…

I think that Cody is more than reasonable and suspect has this as an option…not a requirement.

I sweat a lot as well and have worn a dress shirt with long pants for the past couple of years. I am actually more comfortable working in a dress shirt. Pennsylvania gets beastly when both the temperature and humidity are racing to 100.

The more covered you are in extremely hot climates…the better and cooler you actually are and feel. I get much more ventilation without a polo or t shirt. A dress shirt allows for much more ventilation.

It also looks very profesional, except for the arm-patch…that should have a certification patch there. Also, the logo will be partially obscured by anything placed in the pocket that sticks out of the top, pens, papesr, notes, etc. Patck or logo should be placed over the right side of the shirt… leaving it totally visible and legible.

I have been in many homes where there had been a steam cleaner a year or so before…with the tabs still in place, meaning the furniture had never been moved.

No mold or mildew was visible on the surface, but it kind of got my attention.

Just today, I shared my hope and desire with a business-owner/customer, to expand beyond my son and me…he said that it would be much smarter to stay small and build a strong business….he suggested that at 4% unemployment, just what kind of employee could I find around here?

Food for my thinker I guess. I highly admire Barry and Jim for their business growth. I hope to emulate their model in the future.

Thanks for the illustrations Barry and Jim..

Berber is everywhere… a room here or there. One would clean cut pile in a home and not the berber carpeting in the same house? Or not clean any carpeting in the house because of a room having berber? Must be nice!!

We clean the berber and have used Laura’s method very successfully wth our Ninja, w/o heat…though, now I will try the heat option on ours.

Everyone I have met that has berber complains aout it…a lot, and vows never to but it in again. We do our very best to educate and they almost always realize it is a pain to get perfect, if at all…by our educating them on the issue and their past experiences. HWE, with bonnet agitation will get berber clean most of the time.

The thing I do is this… I let the customer know that berber is very difficult to clean by any method, however, ours is the BEST way to clean it. When we are done, it looks great, but as time goes on, it will get less and less appealing, and at some point turn ugly! When it is ugly, we cannot get it back to the same level we did before, so call at some point in time, 3-4-6 months call and we will most likely be able to get it back to the same level…call before it looks ugly.

Cleaning berber more often is the secret to keeping it from being a royal pain.

We have a physician that has ivory-white berber throughout the house. We get a call every 3 months to clean and it has not slipped a notch in over a year plus…

    Perhaps this is helpful.

In Lancaster County, PA, we are in the heart of Amish country and I have recently been considering how much they are laughing at me or rather us “English” as I drive by their buggies from time to time…

Then again I also think of how the Arabs, Venezuelans and oil company executives and their friends and associates are laughing at the entire situation as well… They must be in disbelief at their windfall.

I am reminded as to what businesses Bush and Cheney were in prior to being elected P/VP…OIL!!!!! And there is no conflict of interest? I can remember a freeze many years ago and the reduction of the speed limit to conserve…zero, zip, nada from the govt now.

I just paid $75 to fill my van…very sobering. Especially when I distinctly remember $ .23/gallon here in the states in the 60s and $ .19 in Okinawa when filing my car in 1970.

ORGANIC/Citrus based is very misleading to me. It has the connotation of being natural to me since I was raised on organically grown foods until I was 11.

I do not believe the citrus based materials referred to are truly citrus based as used in the HB Citrus booster or as an additive elsewhere. I belive they are man-made chemicals made to smell like citrus but not really Organic/natural God-made organic citrus.

They may be organic in nature since they may contain carbon, however, then that would mean that there should me no inorganic chemicals in the mixture and I am sure that there are…

Since the composition is not listed due to the nature of OSHA laws, one can only believe that they are relatively safe. But saying they are ORGANIC, to me , is a misnomer, since they are most likely manmade chemicals giving the citrus the citrus name….if that makes sense. The word ORGANIC has the connotation of God-made, not man-made.

One could always have the chemicals analyzed by a lab to determine the composition though and end the issue…a customer or mine took our MSDS to at least 2 local vets and they thankfully sent her away….
